…or keyboard fumble-fingers!
My exposed skin suggested the temperature was a rather cool +5ºF as I stepped out on my back porch this fine Wednesday morning in Old Saint Paul. My replica “Pruitt’s Pig Powders” thermometer disagreed, however. A quick look showed a temperature of +14ºF. I quickly calculated that the wind velocity had to be about 6mph in order to make it feel like +5ºF (or—I simply looked up the weather report on my computer before leaving the house)!
“Do you realize you’ve posted to your blog every day so far this month?” proud Czech Josef Rusicka asked rhetorically as I walked to my usual place at the counter at Joe’s Café & Coffee (Pretty Good Food & Great Coffee) and joined my ancient fellow New Codgers.
“I have?” I replied as Joe filled my “Codger Collectible Mug” with his most excellent organically & shade-grown, Fair Trade, Guatemalan-Roast coffee to assist in convincing my brain to fire on all remaining synapses.
“Do you not look at the calendar on your blog’s sidebar?” Joe asked, his incredibility showing in his voice.
“It’s just—sort of—there.” I replied, “I don’t really look at it.”
“I’ll just bet,” rumbled Carl, “that your neck is just a little stiff from looking at your computer screen for hours and hours.”
“Come to think of it…” I began…
“How ‘bout your fingers,” Fred happily interrupted, “little stiff, are they?”
“Sometimes…”
“Well…” Carl began.
“‘T’ has posted her 1,000th post,” I protested, “the other day on her blog. Our Saint Paul has only 177 posts, and we don’t post every day, in spite of what you think.”
“That’s business,” Fred declared, “you don’t post for business, right?”
“No, I don’t” I answered.
“Are you trying to compete with ‘T’?” Josef asked.
“She’s a blogging force of nature,” I laughed, “You don’t compete with a force of nature!”
“Why, then,” Fred asked, “if not for business, or for competition, do you blog?”
“To make you guys famous,” I replied, “and for fun.”
“Stiff neck and keyboard fumble-fingers are fun?”
“Nope, just the price I pay.”

Nothin’ to blog about today? LOL
