Boomer smiled faintly in relief, drew his Remingtons and shot both their derbies off their heads, “You fellas may be fast, and may I add, treacherous—seeing as how there’s two of you looking identical, but you can’t shoot.”
“We ain’t identical, I’m left-handed, an’ now…” one of them said as he raised his gun—he never finished his sentence—at least not in this world.
Season VI, Chapter 6 Renegade Marshal, Episode 6:
“Mount up, Derby, you have a date with Dreadwood justice.”
“Ain’t you gonna let me bury m’brother?”
Boomer was considering when Pal whinnied, “Thunderhoof is near.”
“How do you know?” Boomer whispered to Pal, then louder so Derby could hear, “Settle down big guy.”
“Thunderhoof is my half brother—we’re connected.”
“No, I’m not, he’ll get the treatment he deserves—buzzards. Mount up or join your brother.”

With Derby’s hands tied they began the journey
With Derby’s hands tied to his saddle, they began the journey back to Dreadwood—giving a wide berth to Carl and Thunderhoof who had not yet detected his brother, fortunately. He would, but too late.
Mac and Larry slept-in—a luxury they’d not had in some time. They lingered for an hour or so before breaking camp and continuing their journey to Wichita, Kansas.
And when they broke camp, Thunderhoof became agitated and whinnied, “I sense Pal.”
“Close?”
“No human-Carl, not very close…and getting farther away.”
“We should close the distance and try to catch him, Carl,” Larry said, scowling.
“We have our orders.”

“We have our orders.”
“But…”
“We have our orders.”
It was clear to Larry that Mac was amazingly uninterested in catching his renegade deputy—then again, the district marshal in St. Louis would probably not appreciate any detours—he was known for being hidebound.
When Erik arrived at Seven Tables for breakfast he was not served his usual order—but was served a talking-to by Susan, “First Boomer becomes an outlaw and now you seem to be headed down the same road. I’ve been patient, but I need to know what’s going on with you two.”
To be Continued…

Dreadwood justice is better than Deadwood justice IMHO.
I’m pretty sure you are NOT a fan of “deadwood.”
Wow we are covering a lot of ground! Can you imagine the space of time between news on things when you think about instant connect today
Yes, really. News moved pretty slowly back then; why I’m pretty sure they didn’t even have email!
