Moments later—behind the 61 Way Café…LeChat Sauvage began mewing and scratching at the back door and the gang-member guarding Todd McCoy unlocked the door, a cat’s meow seemed harmless enough, harmless enough until he opened the door and saw a snarling wildcat supported by several large timber wolves. He slammed the door shut, but failed to lock the door.
With both paws, Sauvage turned the handle and pulled the door open…
Season 8—Chapter 1—Cartel—Episode 9:
Inside the 61 Way Café…McCoy’s guard ran screaming out of the storage room while Sauvage with a quick swipe of her claws freed McCoy. On his way out the guard dropped McCoy’s pistol which McCoy quickly grabbed as he ran into the café. The gang-members in the booths and at the counter never had a chance to react, but Rip, the guard, Lester and one or two others ran past the now-smiling Lt. Silverthorn, “You ain’t gonna chase ‘em?”
“No need,” Silverthorn replied as McCoy came out of the back room, gun drawn, “I sent out an all-call ‘Officer needs assistance’ and unless I miss my guess, Rip and friends are in for a big surprise.”

“You ain’t gonna chase ‘em?”
McCoy was followed closely by Ringo and his WolvenKnights, Sauvage, and the Canine Knights of the Realm: Buttons, Benji, Alice and PepperCooper, “Doya think we should follow?”
“Nice to see you, Todd,” Silverthorn’s voice contained a barely suppressed laugh, “We don’t want to insult our friends who, unless I’m badly mistaken, are rounding up your friends.”
The three customers standing by the counter—appearing a bit stunned, just stood their mouths agape, for a moment or two, “Does this happen often?”
“No ma’am, first time in twenty-five years o’ running this place. More coffee?”
“Uh…no. We should pay our tab and go.”
“I’m sorry, ma’am, you’ll have to make a statement first—about what you saw here today. You are witnesses in the kidnapping and assault of a police officer,” Silverthorn insisted. They weren’t happy, but resigned themselves to being interviewed.
With the dogs, wolves and big cat guarding the gang members in the café, Silverthorn began taking their statements. For his part, McCoy was enjoying the terrified looks on the collective faces of those left behind “good ol’ boys.”
Meanwhile…in the parking lot of the 61 Way Café…
