Forgotten weekend

Previously:

The various law enforcement agencies were kept busy throughout the weekend with dozens of calls about this phantom-train—yet try as they might, and they tried their level best—not one officer actually saw the train.

As suddenly as they began, the sightings ended and within an hour or two after that—no one had any memory of the sightings—not a soul.

Well—except for two very-tired, very-hungry individuals waiting for Silverthorn’s Café to open.

Season 8—Chapter 2—The Harbor—Episode 11:

Early Monday morning at Silverthorn’s Café… A still sleepy Grey Wolf Silverthorn accompanied his grandparents Hiram & Kiwi and parents Samuel & Susan to open the café. All were a bit surprised to find Larry and Larry (Yatkowsky & FlutterMatters, respectively) waiting there, “Good morning, Larrys, you’re here mighty early. How was your weekend?”

I wish I could tell you, but I have no memory of it,” Yatkowsky replied, “But I know I’m famished; as though I forgot to eat for a couple of days.”

You must have done some serious partying Friday night,” Hiram laughed.

Early Monday at Silverthorn's Café

“If I did it would be good if I remembered it.”

If I did it would be good if I remembered it.”

Flutters, alone in the entire county, did remember. But for once, he chose not to speak. Instead, he flew off to find some pigeon delacacies to munch on—leaving his friend Larry alone in his confusion.

Coffee’s ready,” Kiwi announced, “But unless you want cold cereal, breakfast will take a little longer.”

When do you start with Seven Tables?”

I’ll be meeting with Susan there around nine this morning, Dad, for a bit of orientation, then I’m returning to Duluth to pick up my things, clean the apartment and give notice to the property manager. I’m on the hook for a month’s rent but this opportunity is worth it.”

Do you need any help?”

No, Ma, thanks. It’s just an efficiency apartment. It’ll take me about an hour to clean it to perfection. I’ll ask the manager to inspect it before I leave.”

A few hours later at Seven Tables in Williams’ Station… “It’s done, Susan, it’s all yours!”

Hours later at Seven Tables in Williams' Station

“That bank representative seemed surprised to have a cash sale.”

That bank representative seemed surprised to have a cash sale.”

I suspect Susan is ALWAYS cooking. You know Danger Bay, the next time we see the restaurant is at the grand opening. :-P

Well I guess we are not going to hear stories of towns blurred as coal was added!!! I know there must have been some close calls on the tracks. Feather raising as a matter of fact.

Umm…the locos burned ummmm…wood at that time, but I catch your drift. The train will reappear after Medlar Farkleberry (who else?) finished restoring it. Oh…AND add some railroad crossing signs. :-D

Hiram and Kiwi Silverthorn have two sons, twins Hiram Jr. and Samuel, they married the Birdsong twins: Amelia & Susan Birdsong. Sam & Susan are Grey Wolf’s parents. :-P
