They were getting ready…

Previously:

Beware o’ too-confident kitten, I am LaChat Sauvage, Queen of my forest, where there are many who are sentient, and my companion is Akecheta-Apenimon, CanineKnight of the Realm the sentient instructor of WolvenKing LeToil duNord [Star], WolvenKing of this forest.”

Taken aback, Guépard quickly concluded these were not ordinary creatures, and he had heard of this “wolvenking,” and his lieutenant, Renegade, “This small canine has quite a title, she is a warrior?”

She twice defeated the sentient wolf known as ‘Renegade,’ and he is now her ally—as am I.”

How may I serve you, Queen LaChat Sauvage?”

Season VI, Chapter 2, Episode 34:

There’s about fifty of them, and yes, they might be successful. We can’t count on that.”

What do you want?”

Spenser told him—Kidd smiled. He left the Man O’War and walked to the hotel—he was looking for Chauncey Marion Fensterwald, and figured he would be hanging-out in the lobby, making friends with other travelers and local businessmen. On his way he ran into Marshal Angus McGillicuddy, “Good evening, boss, you’re up pretty late tonight.”

Ah, laddie, ‘at Ah am, thaur be highwaymen abroad, y’knaw,” McGillicuddy was slowly beginning to trust Kidd—with reservations, “Whaur ur ye aff tae?

Mr. Spenser is looking for horse wranglers, and there is a fella called Fensterwald I met when I inspected his wagons & horses a day or two ago. He mentioned he recruits experienced horsemen from out west.”

Ah, very-weel, laddie, I’ll be aff tae m’bed, carry oan.”

“Excuse me, Mr. Fensterwald, I would like a word with you.”

Kidd found Fensterwald, as expected, holding court in the hotel lobby, “Excuse me, Mr. Fensterwald, I would like a word with you.”

Blackmon & Grey Cloud east side of the cabin

Marshal Blackmon and Chief Grey Cloud had their people begin to quietly move into position behind the Raider lines on the north & east sides of the besieged cabin, with additional warriors dispatched to augment Deputy Cooper’s people; both Blackmon and Cooper understood time was beginning to run out for their friends.

WolvenKing LeToil DuNord [Star], at PepperCooper’s urging, assumed command of the very first known alliance between sentient canines and wolves while they waited for the return of LaChat and Daisy. He ordered his “troops” to silently spread out along the west side, and Flutters was assigned aerial reconnaissance. When LaChat & Daisy returned a half-hour later, they were asked to assist the humans on the south side.
