“Am I dead?”

Previously:

Daisy began baying and running back and forth outside the sight of the nearby raiders, and Deputy AJ drew and fired his .44 at them bringing down five quickly.

Puma Guépard and LaChat Sauvage charged into the raiders in front of them, taking down one-each and causing the line to crumble and Marshal Blackmon ordered her “troops” to advance on the retreating raider line.

Bart Nathaniel again began to cough violently, and Mac rushed to his aid and realized there was nothing more he could do…

Season VI, Chapter 2, Episode 38:

The wolves & canines began howling—the combined howling caused the raider line to falter and moments later when the critters charged—the line broke and began running headlong away. All four raider lines were in full retreat—towards the cabin and into each other.

All Blackmon & Cooper’s “troops” converged on the panicked and demoralized raiders, still outnumbering their former quarry, couldn’t drop their weapons and surrender fast enough.

They broke the survivors into groups of five and each was disarmed and placed under guard. Of the fifty who began the siege only twenty survived, the rifle fire from the cabin apparently was more than a little effective.

Boomer, Larry, Erik, and Bill Williams rushed outside, with Boomer calling out to Doc Shouse, “Chris come quick! We have one gravely-wounded inside!”

Chris, did not see Big Mac and panicked a little, “Oh Nooo!

Boomer stopped her at the door, “It’s a fellow named Bart Nathaniel, he took a bullet in the torso, Mac gave him first aid, saving his life—for now.”

Chris just nodded and went quickly inside.

Deputy AJ and Daisy remained away from the others—at Daisy’s insistence, “Why are we here? I need to see if Dad’s okay, Daisy?”

Because, Beta-Andrew, I was told to bring you here.”

By whom…Dad?”

I have not spoken with Alpha-Jack.”

But who?”

Hello Beta-Andy,” a familiar bark startled the deputy and he turned towards the voice.

“CUJO!” was all he could manage.

CUJO!” was all he could manage as he gave his first-dog-ever-in-his-life a thorough petting & behind-the-ears-scratching.

After a delightful few minutes of people-dog attention, Cujo again barked, “Your time here is over, Beta-Andy, you must come with me.”

Am I dead?”
