“I suppose he wants compensation as well?”
As he shouted “Kill them boys!” Carpenter reached for his gun, but wisely, his wranglers were experienced enough to know to just raise their hands.
Carpenter was stopped cold as Larry had both his Colt .45s out and pointed at his head before ol Sam’l’s hand came within an inch of his gun.
“You should maybe reconsider drawing your gun, Mr. Carpenter,” Boomer smiled.
Season VI, Chapter 5 Coldwater Ranch, Episode 11:
Carpenter looked back and saw he would get no support from his wranglers and slumped in his saddle, “Now what? Y’gonna shoot me?”
“No, likely not. I do wonder, however,” Boomer was speaking quietly, “how, exactly, you will explain this to your wife—goin’ around telling your men to kill someone—not exactly pro-social. Sooner or later, I expect, she’ll be stopping by to welcome the Coopers.”
“Kin we go now, Mr. Jack?” one of the wranglers asked, “We’ll git Sam’l home safe an’ sound.”
“Go.”
“Your last name isn’t ‘Jack;’ why’d you tell them that?”
“Easy, it’s shorter. And now it IS my last name, Larry. You should consider changing yours.”
“Nope—I’ll just enjoy everyone’s inability to spell it.”
Sure enough, when Carpenter arrived home, his wife, Abbie, was “Fixin’ to visit the new folks next door,” and she expected him to come with her.
When he objected, Abbie, who knew her husband only too well, extracted from him what had happened. After a twenty-minute scolding, a very contrite Samuel Carpenter escorted Abbie Carpenter to the Coldwater Ranch, where they were warmly greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Cooper. Carpenter would no longer be a problem—considering he was forced to apologize to Mr. Cooper.
In Dreadwood, Erik gave the message of his new situation to Flutters in time for his next flight to Coldwater Ranch, where he gave Big Mac the message, “It appears, Boomer, that you are now a wanted man.”
“Oh…joy!”
“Perhaps Kidd is looking for a deputy…”
“Even better—CRAP!”
To be Continued…

LOL Carpenters ego was surely deflated! Yes he definitively deserved it with his blow hard attitude. I hope Erik is safe working for those nasty men!

Methinks thinks Fluttermatters that the brown and white needs to understand that a bird on the table is better than a fire hydrant in the bush!

As we’ve discussed numerous times…Daisy only sniffs the hydrant news, she doesn’t make the news. 😛
