The interview

Without thinking consiously, Sarah simultaniously applied right rudder while shutting down the right engine.

This caused the Lightning to straighten just enough to allow it to land almost straight-on to the runway—it wasn’t pretty—the landing was hard. But it was a landing that both occupants could walk away from.

As the airplane came to a stop, Sarah restarted the starboard engine and managed to taxi awkwardly off the runway, allowing both the horrified Big Mac and Larry to land safely.

Season VI, Chapter 7 Danger Bay—2012, Episode 7:

After towing the Lighting out of the way, a quick inspection revealed no damage to the airframe, but they were certain the engine may have to be replaced.

“I think I want to sell the general store.”

Sarah was still shaking a bit as she came down off an adrenalin high. She sighed heavily and surprised everyone—except Jay—when she said, “I think I want to sell the general store. After this, stocking shelves loses it’s appeal.”

Doc Shouse and Todd McCoy now at the Sheriff’s Office and after discussing the Big A situation, decided they would have to visit his would-be shelter, “I just don’t trust him, Todd.”

“Nor do I. But, unless he’s in violation of a city ordinance or county law, there’s precious little we can do. Let’s head over there and you can inspect the facility—that is certainly an apropriate function of the county’s only veterinarian.”

“Well, Marshal, I suspect this job has you hopping—right?”

“Well, Marshal, I suspect this job has you hopping—right?”

“Hopping?” Andrew sighed, “More like crawling. I have never seen such a law-abiding place.”

“Well, I think it’s time, then, for you to do some more time-traveling; interested?”

“Am I ever!”

“I’ll ask Cujo, but I’m pretty sure she’d do anything for you.”

“Hungry? Let’s go over to Seven Tables. I believe there’s a chunk of that apple cake with my name on it.”

“Deal!”

The “cowboy” walked over to where Susie Blackmon had been, with great anticipation, waiting to interview her first candidate—until he greeted her in an adolescent voice, “Howdy, Ma’am, I hear-tell yer looking for a ranch foreman? Well, here I am.”

“Howdy, Ma’am, I hear-tell yer looking for a ranch foreman? Well, here I am.”

The boy couldn’t have been older than 17 and wearing a gun; Susie was instantly disappointed, and in an eyeblink (or two) she switched to her tough town marshal persona, “Listen carefully, boy—unbuckle that gunbelt and let it drop—do it NOW!”

“Y-y-yes’m.”

“Sonny, you’re about to see what happens to lawbreakers in the Port of Danger Bay.”
