Meanwhile…back in Wichita…The raiders rode in past the stable and found a single lawman standing between them and the Painted Lady and it’s promise of booze and women. They drew their sidearms and began shooting, but Randy Kidd drew both his sidearms and took down two of the raiders before they could get off a shot—however, the rest fired and incredible number of shots at Kidd…

Season VI—Chapter 9—Range War, Episode 9:

Wichita—in front of the Painted Lady Saloon… Badly wounded, and with one gun out of ammunition after shooting all but four of the raiders, Kidd fell to his knees and managed shoot two more before he fell to the ground.

The two remaining raiders walked over to Kidd to finish him off but as they began to draw their sidearms, changed their mind as Wyatt Earp and Sadie Beteenus appeared out of nowhere with their guns drawn, “You fellas probably don’t want to do that,” Earp’s voice was low and threatening as he spoke, “Deputy, get their guns and escort them to the jail.”

He knelt beside Kidd, who breathing great difficulty, asked, “Did we get them, Earp?”

“You got them, Randy, you got ’em all.”

Kidd smiled weakly, “Good.”

His smile remained as he stopped breathing. Randolph Kidd, hired gun, outlaw, and murderer, had died as a deputy marshal and a hero—all else would be forgotten in the “Chronicles of the Old West.”

Susie & Company…Marshal Blackmon and Company, joined by AJ and leaving Doctor Shouse behind to tend to Boomer’s wounds, charged without firing their guns into the approaching raiders. The raiders were completely unprepared for a military-style charge directly at them, half of their guns were out of ammunition and at most the rest had but one or two rounds remaining and wasted those shots firing wildly at the marshals.

The marshals reigned-in a scant ten yards in front of the confused raiders, drew their weapons as Marshal Blackmon continued riding up to their leader, One-Eye Muldoon, “Surrender—or die.”

They surrendered.

Meanwhile, Doctor Shouse treated Boomer’s wound—it was a serious wound in the stomach. He was unconscious, his breathing was erratic—she needed better light, and better tools to work with.
