“You have NO IDEA what you’re doing!”

Previously:

That Chris even went through with the deal was due largely to the counsel of two people she trusted implicitly—Susan Miller and Hiram Silverthorn, both of whom were known for their uncanny ability to detect any hint of duplicity. Both were convinced that Simpson truly did want to emulate Adelbert Samuel Simpson of 1873 Williams’ Station.

Everything seemed to be going well, that is until a very long limousine slowly drove by PawZ. The car continued towards downtown on the other side of the harbor. Simpson stared after the car, “They’ll be back.”

Meanwhile—in Williams’ Station…Devil Track Township Marshal AJ Boardman had just finished one of Susan Miller’s extraordinary breakfasts and was standing outside chatting with her when a limousine drove slowly into town.

Season 7—Chapter 11—Kolar-King—Episode 5:

The limousine stopped in front of AJ’s office and the Cartel underboss motioned for AJ to join him. Shrugging his shoulders, AJ walked to his office.

Inside, the underboss looked around, sneering a little as he took-in the spartan office, “We have a little business proposition we’d like you to consider.”

Okay, but I should tell you—I’m not in “business,” I’m a public servant.”

Are you opposed to making money?”

“Who is? I’m paid for my time.”

Who is? I’m paid for my time.”

Not well, I would imagine.”

Andrew shrugged his shoulders, “I get by. But—I’m not opposed to making more; what do you have in mind?”

The underboss could see the marshal was thinking, thinking about what more money might do. He’d seen the look before; the look of corruption, “This is what we have in mind.”

After he finished his presentation, Andrew looked to be thinking it over and after a couple of minutes he extended his right hand to shake on it, “Deal.”

He grasped the marshal’s hand—the marshal, with his free left hand slapped his handcuffs on the underboss, “Surprise!”

But…” he began as AJ, after searching him, showed him the inside of a jail-cell, “You have NO IDEA what you’re doing!”

“You have NO IDEA what you’re doing!”

That’s true—but look at the bright side—you’ll get a fine breakfast in the morning. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll tell your driver not to wait.”

At the same time—in Danger Bay… “Are you the town marshal?”

I am, How may I help you?” Wyatt Earp IV smiled, “I’m Wyatt Earp, Danger Bay Town Marshal, at your service.”

Wait! Who are you calling “rude?” An incorruptible Township Marshal? Or, perhaps, a foolish cartel functionary? I’m hoping the latter. 😉
