Meanwhile—at Silverthorn’s Café…There were two offers made—one contingent upon the other and Susan and Chris were waiting, as patiently as possible, to hear back from Philomena Boardman on the “other.”
“How long can this take?”
“We’re dealing with a bank, Susan, there’s no telling how they will respond.”
And just as Chris finished speaking, her phone rang. It was Philomena.
“Hello, Chris? I have some news…”
Season 8—Chapter 2—The Harbor—Episode 9:
Still—at Silverthorn’s Café… “So soon? WOW! They looked at the offer, and…”
“They accepted it as written. Something that I didn’t expect, but there’s a new mortgage officer and she seems determined to clear the books of foreclosures.”
“Thanks, Phil, I’ll tell Susan. How soon can we close?”
“How does tomorrow morning sound? Say 9:30?”
It was then that Susan overheard part of a conversation that Jimmy was having on his phone, “But Mr. Wellchill, I simply can’t get there that quickly, I’m in Danger Bay, almost three hours away, and besides, I worked the past fourteen days in a row.”
Susan also noticed Chris give her a thumbs-up signal—the restaurant would be hers. She sidled over to Jimmy, “Here, give me that phone.”
Grey Wolf James Silverthorn with a quizzical look on his face, shrugged, and handed her the phone, “Mr. WellChill, is it? Hi, my name is Susan Miller, and I’m pleased to tell you that Grey Wolf has agreed to manage one of my restaurants, so I guess you’ll just have to cover that shift yourself.” (a pause as Wellchill spoke) “Well—I KNOW talent when I see it—good day, sir—enjoy your shift!”
“Susan, they accepted your offer with no counter.”
“And Jimmy accepted mine—right Jimmy?”
“I’d be happy to consider it your offer. Compensation?”
Susan told him and he smiled.
“Accepted.”
“Good deal all around,” a tired Chris observed, “I don’t know about you, Susan, but since the siege at the 61 Way Café, I’ve had no time to decompress…”
And so she and Susan headed for their respective homes—a long, successful day was drawing to a close for them. But elsewhere…
Meanwhile—somewhere in Moosehead County… “More wood, Flutters! This train is bound for glory—this train…”
“The Master’s writings clearly state that “One who quotes song lyrics…”
“Feed the boiler, bird!”

Methinks thinks Fluttermatters that ‘Glory’ is a blink east of the most western mountains and a little south the bluest of blue rivers that sparkle in the eternal sunlight.
