Character reunion

On Historic Highway 61—just north of the Cabin-on-the-Rock… Boomer almost drove right by the historic railroad station without noticing Larry Yatkowsky standing on the platform—looking a bit bewildered. He pulled in, “Looking for a ride, stranger?”

I’d prefer a bottle of booze, but a ride will will do for now—the train seems to be missing.”

We don’t have a train—yet.”

But—oh never mind! Coffee and food will work just as well.”

Meanwhile—at Canal Park in Duluth… A small steamer departed the harbor…and set a course towards the Port of Danger Bay.

Season 8—Chapter 3—The New Cartel—Episode 11:

We begin our visit today at Silverthorn’s Café—where we find the missing ones reunited… “I am so glad to see you—all of you again. I appears the mission to 1862, under Jay Cooper’s leadership, was a complete success—AND our placement of Carl and Erik in the—ahem—temporary employ of the cartel has worked better than we’d hoped. I expect Cujo to be joining us soon. But one never knows with her; she’s been very busy of late.”

Was this all Cujo’s idea, Hiram?” Sarah asked, and was a little surprised by the answer.

A reunion at Silverthorn's Café

“Was this all Cujo’s idea, Hiram?” Sarah asked, and was a little surprised by the answer.

It was my idea from the start. When my son Samuel pointed out that there was no lease-rights clause in the treaty, a treaty, by the way, which makes the very existence of Danger Bay possible, I knew something was amiss, so I asked Cujo to check as only she can bend time. She checked and discovered that the officer who Jay replaced, on orders from Governor Ramsey, did not include the clause. Ramsey was a known Indian-hater, and due to a blip in the space-time continuum, deleted the clause from the captain’s orders.”

So, the cartel is done?”

No, Boomer. We knew they’d just move into either Cook or St. Louis County, and try to set-up there, but that would be difficult as Minnesota only allows Native Americans to run casinos. This is due in part, to the very actions of Governor Ramsey—the state is unwilling to renege on yet another treaty. However, Minnesota treaties do not extend out on Lake Superior beyond two miles1 so we expect Biggs to move out onto the lake.”

So what is the plan?”

To be Continued…

I see us going into another adventure soon and I still don’t know who is on the ship.

  2. So ‘we’ just have to go out 2 miles if someone wants to start some special Danger Bay ‘manly mens cruises?’ Nice, 2 hour ‘planning committee’ cruises…. (maybe if I specified 30-seconds that might be more appropriate), with young, nubile waitresses and all. Me thinks there are too-many cobwebbed brains around DB.

  3. Sarah Cooper says:

    Adventure ahead!
