Whit abit thes ‘Mainfest Destiny’ ye Americans believe in?”

That is a problem—not ALL of us believe in that,” Grey Wolf Silverthorn deadpanned—with rich irony, “I am chief of the Eagle Point band of Ojibwe, and we have successfully, with help from my friends here, defeated it in our shared territory.”

The conversation was interrupted when first they felt the train slowing and then suddenly—everyone was thrown to the floor…

Season 8—Chapter 5—New Adventure—Episode 12:

Continuing our story—with Larry and Murphy in Locomotive 01…

Murphy, to answer your earlier question—honestly this time,” Larry said as he put Loco 01 in reverse and slowly backed away from the missing trestle, “You must have heard other creatures speak—be honest with me—right?”

Aye, this is true, I thought myself daffed, I did.”

Flutters is sentient, as are all of our dogs, horses and mule.”

Is this so? I would love to have such a horse,” Murphy said.

Larry began moving the train again towards the missing trestle, “We can find one, I’m sure.”

What are you doing?” A very alarmed Murphy shouted, “There’s no tres…

Larry gave Loco 01 full throttle

“What are you doing?” A very alarmed Murphy shouted, “There’s no tres…”

Yatkov didn’t finish as the train accelerated over the missing trestle as if it were still in place.

I can see I have some explaining to do.”

His astonishment complete, Master Sergeant Murphy Yatkov remained silent.

About the same time—in the Parlor Car…Everyone expressed their surprise one way or another, including the dogs—all of them simply furiously barked—all of them save one—PepperCooper, who barked out “What’s happening!

All present just heard Pepper—INCLUDING—Inspector Robert Erik MacIntyre, “Ach, th’ dug speaks? Hoo can thes be? Ah main hae burst mah heed when Ah feel.”

I sure am glad we made it over the missing trestle! It is also nice to run into people that can hear our animals speak even if they do think they are nutso for a bit!

    • Jack Boardman says:

It would be cause for pause if we heard Buttons or Daisy speak to us in the Real World. 🙂

      • Chris Shouse says:

Wouldn’t it be nice though. Sometimes I really wish she could tell me what she is thinking or feeling!

        • Jack Boardman says:

But not being all that…um…restrained…shall we say…they might blurt out something inappropriate? 😛

  2. sgtmajcarl says:

Not FIRST—DAGNABBIT! It would mess up my Real World day to see the train glide over a non-existent trestle—or hear a dog speak. 😛

  3. Sarah Cooper says:

If Pepper spoke around the house, he would mostly say, “Do we have any more cookies? Mom? Can I have a cookie? Mom? Mom?” …. I’m kind of glad he doesn’t.
