Chris and Sarah were awakened by the sound of the warbirds overflying—and by the time they crawled out of their shelter, the big DeHaviland amphibian had already landed and was taxiing next to their L16; Susie and Jay had arrived nearby just as AJ found their airplane.
Just about as all this was going-on—Lar Farkleberry…required coffee and walked out of the main hanger and was about to head for Silverthorn’s Café when he saw…
…the NEW Seven Tables was OPEN!!!
Season 8—Chapter 11—Airfield—Episode 8:
Continuing our story—with the “Rescue” of Chris & Sarah… “We are SO glad to see you!” Sarah exlaimed, “Our airplane began running rough, so we were forced to land here.”
“We’re more than ready to go,” Chris added, “I wonder how soon we can get the airplane fixed?”
“No time at all,” Jay replied.
“Just climb-in and start’r up,” Susie added.
“Say what?” Chris couldn’t believe it.
“We were jammed by someone—both radio communications and our engines were made to feel and sound like they were sputtering,” Jay explained, “Nothing is wrong with them; you can just climb-in and fly home.”
And that is what they did.
Meanwhile, at Danger Bay Airfield—daybreak arrived and Medlar Farkleberry…having completed the emergency radio installation, and finding several more LW radios, decided he could use breakfast.
He walked outside and noticed a new restaurant inside the Administration Building—the NEW Seven Tables was OPEN!!!
He had heard that Susan Miller sold her operation in Williams’ Station (but retaining the name “Seven Tables” for her use), and heard that there was a new restaurant opening here—but he hadn’t made the connection until now.
“Wal, I might’s well go on inside fer my coffee-n-breakfast—I hope ol’ Hiram won’t be too offended,” he thought out loud as he headed for the door.
“G’mornin’! I’m lookin’ fer sumtin’ ta eat an some coffee.”
“You’re my very-first customer!” Susan exclaimed, “Order whatever you wish—it’s on the house!”
Bit-by-bit, Seven Tables began to fill with searchers and searchees and Susan was quite busy—all the while thinking she wanted something more—she wanted to learn to fly.
“I want to learn to fly—and to shoot,” she said without preamble surprising just about everyone, “I want to be a full participant in our adventures.”
Meanwhile in a craftily hidden cave in a small island—he was making plans…
…He might just mess-up everyone’s day.
