BEFORE we get into their discussion—anybody wondering WHO is working behind the counter? I thought so…
You all remember Eleanor Anderson Pfalz, 66, and her younger sister, Marion Anderson Skepanski, 64, known to all as the “Anderson sisters,” owners of “Anderson Gifts,” Right?
Well—they had yet another sister—Grace Anderson—Eleanor’s twin.
Grace had never married; she was simply too busy establishing herself as one of the preeminate master chefs in New York City.
It wasn’t that she wasn’t interested in men, after all she’d dated some of the most eligble bachelors (and a few married lotharios) in the city, it was just that she couldn’t commit to anything, or anyone, which would distract her from her career.
Now wealthy beyond all notions of avarice—she had retired to her hometown of the Port of Danger Bay, Minnesota. As it happened, she met and became friends with Susan after becoming a regular customer at the Williams’ Station Seven Tables. When she learns that Susan need someone to manage & cook for her at the new Airfield Seven Tables, Marion didn’t hesitate to offer her services to her friend.
It will come to no surprise to our GENTLE READERS that soon Airfield Seven Tables became THE go-to place for a gourmet meal, followed, of course, by one of Susan’s signature dessert offerings.
