At the same time—near the Apostle Islands…

Season 9—Chapter 1—Search & Rescue—Episode 7—Chris, Susan & Randy were in the airfield control tower… where they had relieved the tower-operator for a break when all hell broke loose off Rock Island and were moniotoring dozens of distress calls—including Daisy’s mayday call, “Have you a fix on that?”

No Chris, It was too short,” Randolph Kidd replied, “We don’t know who—or where.”

It was Daisy!” Buttons exclaimed.

“It was Daisy!” Buttons exclaimed.

Are you sure?”

I KNOW her voice, Alpha-Chris!”

Very well,” Susan said, “I think we need Randy to get his boat heading in the direction of Rock Island, Chris.”

Agreed,” Chris said, “Randy—take Alice and Benji with you. Sidney Seagull and Flutters are out searching already and you need to get in the area quickly.”

WAIT!” Buttons exclaimed, “What about me?”

We’ll be relieved here soon by the tower operator, and I’ll need you in the ‘copter.”

That satisfied the the feisty little Buttons.

Meanwhile…with all the sentient birds off searching—the two miscreants made their escape from Rock Island—and were heading towards the Apostle Islands where they had another hideout…
