Previously: Susie, Sarah and Jay returned to the present at the airfield just in time to learn of Chris, Susan and company in the Sikorsky UH-19B going down off the same Apostle Island as Boomer & AJ, “We gotta take the DeHavilland and fly out there.”
“And if they engage their device again?” Larry asked as he and Big Mac joined them.
“Good question,” Sarah sighed.
Season 9—Chapter 3—Disruption—Episode 5—Inside the Airfield Main Hangar…
“I agree we must try to reach them,” Big Mac said, “But there is a lot of risk involved.”
“Life is a risk, Mac,” Susie responded, “These are our friends—friends who wouldn’t hesitate to come to our aid.”
“Very well—it’s decided, we’re going. It would be better if we could recover the helecopter.”
“It’s probably effectively destroyed,” Jay was not optimistic.
“Mebbe I kin help yuh,” it was Medlar Farkleberry speaking as he joined them, “I ‘spect they didn’t do th’ engine in.”
“How do you know this?” Larry asked.
“When I installed th’ LF radios, I also installed systems monitors ta’ send a bunch o’readins t’ me. The engine ain’t toast—jest an oil line. We kin fix’r in place.”
“How do you know they won’t engage their device again?”
“‘Cause I think she’s broke. Else th’ damage would have been worse. ‘Sides, I think they’ll lay low fer a time, anniways.”
As they prepared to fly out—equipped with oil, a new oil line, and most importantly—a Farkleberry; our thoughts turn to AJ, Boomer, Daisy, Pal and Wrassler.
Too bad we have no further information.
