Previously: “It will be good to get home, Jay, I have a half-dozen quilts to get finished,” Sarah was anticipating some down-time.
“Mac wants MacAir’s books updated, before taxes are due,” Jay replied, “So I expect to do a bit of number-crunching.”
“Or…maybe I should help you instead.”
“No, we only need to add in the October numbers, but thanks.”
Soon they were landing at Danger Bay Airfield—all were very tired and excited at the same time.
And Chris, Susan, Jay, Sarah, Larry, Boomer, AJ, Susie, and the canine crew stepped out of their respective aircraft and were a bit surprised at what they saw…
Season 9—Chapter 3—Nevada—Episode 2—The Nevada town of Loco… “We don’t much like armed gangs here in Loco,” greeted the marshal of Loco, Nevada, “You folks oughta jest keep not ridin’ on outa town.”
“Now settle down, Marshal Holcomb, we don’t know these folks, now do we?” the fancy dressed fellow cautioned, “How-do folks—I’m James Fitzhugh, Mayor of Loco.”
“Name’s Shouse, Chris Shouse, Mayor Fitzhugh, from up around Silver City—and these are my friends. All of us at one time or another have served as United States Deputy Marshals.”
“Prob’ly robbed banks on yer days off,” the town marshal muttered—just loud enough for Boomer to hear.
“No, Mr. Holcomb, but we’ve run more’n one corrupt town marshal off to prison—are you corrupt, Mr. Holcomb?”
“Now Marshal Holcomb,” the mayor cut him off before he could get deeper in trouble, “Don’t be looking for trouble where there ain’t any.”
“Sage advice, Mayor,” Susie recognized the mayor, “Do you remember me? I used to marshal back in Hartle’s Corners, Missouri.”
The mayor studied her face, “I thought you were dead!”
