What they didn’t know

Loco Part II BannerPreviously: “What about me—this me?”

I can only tell you the obvious: You will meet, fall in love, marry, and have a dozen children—one of whom will be 21st Century Roland’s great-great-grandfather.”

But I—he was a criminal…”

Who will meet 21st Century justice, and whose actions in helping my friends will be taken into account at his trial.”

How many years in prison?”

The 20th & 21st Century McGyver family were closely related to the McIntyre family—hence your stong resemblance to Big Mac. Mac and the others will speak on his behalf at trial. He will be found guilty by a Danger Bay jury, and will be sentenced two weeks probation, after which, his criminal record will ‘disappear.’ The people of the Port of Danger Bay have an interesting take on justice. Something Moosehead City could learn from.”

Season 9—Chapter 5—LOCO Part II!—Episode 12—Conclusion…

McGyver joined the rest of the marshals who were saddled-up and ready to depart for Fort Savage, He couldn’t help feeling excited by what the Beagamute told him—he had a purpose in this life, this 19th Century life. Soon enough, he suspected, all memories of the 21st Century would fade. He was right.

With the canines and Flutters leading (they were tasked with scouting well-ahead of the marshals), the marshals began the long journey to Fort Savage—some one-hundred miles distant; one-hundred hard miles. One-hundred dangerous miles.

What they didn’t know—how could they? What they didn’t know was that some one-hundred and fifty miles out from the fort was a major change in military history. The US military did not integrate until President Harry S. Truman ordered the change in 1948 (On July 26, 1948 Truman abolished the segregation laws. He had been shocked by the way veteran African-Americans soldiers were treated after World War II. Executive orders 9980 and 9981 were introduced to desegregate the workforce and the army. [Wikipedia]).

Meanwhile, a rather colorful troop of US Cavalry—was also heading for Fort Savage…

Lt. Colonel Phineas Cooper, Major Osias Washington, Captain Timothy Jones, Captain Jeremiah Cooper (Phineas’ brother), Sergeant-Major Kuckunniwi (Little Wolf), and Head Scout Chatan (Hawk), rested on their journey to Fort Savage.

Not one of them looked down—so they didn’t see their respective names at their feet!

Thus ends Chapter 5—but our story? To be Continued…

Cooper brothers, huh? They should look down! They’d be so surprised they happened to stand in the right order and everything!
