Family reunions

Fort & Town of Fort Justice Banner Previously: Jay learned that Sarah, Chris and the rest of his companions were holding-court at La Cantina.

Lt. Colonel and Captain Cooper were there, along with Chris, Sarah, Boomer, Larry, AJ, Hiram Jr. and Susie, he asked, “How?”

“Cujo bent time to make the improvements to the place, Jay,” Phineas Cooper replied, “And it is good to see you have the Cooper penchant to marry well.”

Jay simply grinned.

Chapter 7—Loco Part IV, Fort Justice—Episode 9—our story continues at La Cantina…

There were several intergenerational family meeting-for-the-first-time-in history, or “Family Reunions” at La Cantina.

Family reunions at La Cantina

There were several intergenerational family meeting-for-the-first-time-in history, or “Family Reunions” at La Cantina.

Sarah & Jay Cooper met Jay’s ancestors Lt. Colonel Phineas Cooper & Captain Jeremiah Cooper (let me tell you—GENTLE READER—I would love to meet some of—any of my ancestors. The stories they could tell!).

At another table Hiram Silverthorn, Jr. was getting acquainted with his ancestors, Gray Wolf and Little Wolf James Silverthorn.

Life stories (abbreviated, to be sure) were being told, and it appeared—at least to the rest of us, that descendants & ancestors alike were having a good time.

I was at the bar along with Mac, Susie, Chris, Larry, AJ, and “Little-Mac” McGyver, and we were not privy to the conversations.

Sergeant-Major Cantrell (retired), was pouring the brown ale, “Y’know—we’re gonna need us a civilian town marshal here. The army can’t be charged with enforcing civil law.”

“Well, unless Chris has an objection,” Larry said, “I can serve here for a time—as long as I can select my own deputy.”

“Who would you select?” Chris asked.

“Who else? Flutters. He seems to hang-around me all the time anyway.”

“I can’t imagine Flutters trying to handcuff anybody,” Chris laughed.

“But—you CAN imagine him observing problems and letting me know.”

“Then, it seems settled. With a little help from your ‘time-bender,’ Cujo, we can bring back an adobe building which would make a fine jail,” Cantrell was happy with any help Yatkowsky, no matter how temporary, offered.

Soon the jail—with no small help from the Beagamute—was back in place, and Larry began his reign as the town marshal of Fort Justice.

It would not be a good start for the Larrys!

To be continued…

Methinks thinks Fluttermatters that with my new stealth under wing ‘gatlin’ guns designed by the Master and disguised to look like wing feathers which he printed on his 3D printer in the blue mountains far to the west of east will prove a huge surprise. Not being one for guns guts and glory methinks thinks Fluttermatters the legacy of law making will pass to Ol’ Lar’s shoulders who methinks, is destined to be the talk of the territory.

It’s not the size of the bird in flight, it’s the size of the flight in the bird — and Flutters can be mighty flighty. 😉

I really hate to point this out but Flutters has been invaluable to us and has saved a couple times! Course if his ego gets much bigger he may not be able to fly!

I would love to sit in La Cantina, or anywhere else, and meet some of my ancestors too. Maybe you can invent a way back machine. (amazing illustration)
