Previously: Chris jumped up excited, “I’ve got it, I don’t know for sure this will work but at least it is worth a try.”
As she hurried out of Silverthorn’s Café, she nearly bowled Boomer and AJ as they were walking up to the door, “Hi Chris, how’s the…” Boomer didn’t get to finish.
“Sorry Boomer, I must go,” she said, grinning, and got into her car and drove over to Moosehead City.
“Never get in the way of a woman on a mission,” AJ laughed.
Boomer just grinned.
Season 10—Chapter 1—A Murder in Danger Bay—Episode 6:
Chris parked in front of Moosehead City’s only newspaper, in fact it was the only newspaper for miles and miles around.
The Moosehead Town Crier was delivered 4 days a week and had a huge readership online and off.
Chris went inside and placed an ad which she was assured would be online tomorrow and distributed to homes the day after. The ad read like this:
“Anyone who was in the vicinity of the Gamboge cabin on the night of the murder and might have seen a late-model Silver Ford Fusion please contact Chris at PawZ or email to the box in this ad. It is extremely important that you contact me as soon as possible.”
Satisfied she had done something to help with the investigation she headed back to PawZ. It was nice to be home where she could surround herself with the animals. She checked on them all and watched the new pups jumping and playing. Knowing she would barely sleep waiting for her ad to come online in the morning, it gave her comfort to be with the animals and the serenity of the shelter.
The next morning she jumped out of bed and headed straight for the computer, anxious to see the ad. To her amazement there was already a response.
She quickly made two phone calls one to the responder and the next one to Wyatt.
Wyatt asked if she’d pick him up as his car was at Farkleberry’s for maintenance.
Soon she was in her squad and on her way to pick up Wyatt, her mind running over what she had just learned.
To be continued…
