Sometimes—It is best to start over—a RARE Sunday post

When I designed the most recent Danger Bay Airfield—I got a bit carried-away and made a much larger airfield than a small area  such as Moosehead County could possibly support.

The rest of the pilots arrived at the airfield

I got a bit carried-away

I attempted to use a photograph I had taken of Lake Superior and modifying it to “look” like the backside of the South Bluff.

The Lighting and Mustang squadrons took off

As a result… it simply did not have the resolution required to look good on this blog:

So—I started from scratch:

I took my South Bluff Master and flipped it horizontally.

Then I placed the “Blue Swallow Motel,” “Dandy” Bar and Grill,” and “Boomer’s home” along the “Historic US 61.”

I then downsized the Danger Bay Airfield to just two large hangars and two small hangars on either side of the main terminal.

I hope it was worth the effort (although, it WAS fun making the illustrations)!
