Emergency situation

CAP BannerPreviously: Cob Pettigrew messaged back, “I’ll contact the Coast Guard. How do you expect to find him?”

“He reports he can’t see any shoreline—that gives us an idea where he might be within just a few hundred square miles. I have seven airplanes with 1000 mile plus range. We’ll begin searching within the hour.”

“I’ll send the boats out on the lake and send them in the direction of largest area of open water—perhaps the ‘copter can be loaded aboard one of our big boats, to get it in range. I’ll contact Captain Halloran.”

“Meet me at the airfield, Cob, I have a plane from which you can direct boats if we find Cap.”

“Roger that!”

“Daisy, Flutters, Chris!” Boomer exclaimed, “We have an EMERGENCY SITUATION!”

Season Eleven—Adventure 4—Cap—Episode 3: Boomer had to drive past Cob Pettigrew’s office on his way to the airfield and he saw that Cob hadn’t left—he stopped, “Hey—old man—are you ready?”

“I am, punk!,” Cob laughed, “You going to give me a ride?”

“Figured on it, if you hadn’t left—which, clearly, you haven’t.”

Ten minutes later they arrived in front of the hangar.

“Is that your airplane?”

Boomer and Cob prepare to fly

“Is that your airplane?”

“Yes—it is!” Boomer replied, “I had my crew chief bring it out and make sure she was fueled and ready.”

By this time all the Historic Air Force pilots were on their way and inside the hangar their respective airplanes were being made ready for flight.

Daisy was not pleased that Cob would be flying with her Alpha-Jack, “So—I have to stay here and twiddle my paws?”

“No Daisy, you’re flying with me,” a baritone voice rumbled as Big Mac walked out of the hangar, “I can use your keen eyesight aboard the Night Eagle.”

Chris, Sandra and Mandy were inside the hangar as Chris was doing her pre-flight inspection of her airplane, Philip Marlowe, “What about my visit to the forest, and Wolvenking Ringo and…”

“Ah, Mandy, my daughter, sometimes even here in Danger Bay, there is disappointment,” Sandra explained gently, and then, turning to Chris, “What can we do to help?”

“Mandy has exceptional eyesight, something I discovered when I examined her. With your permission, she can fly with me and be my spotter in the nose of Philip Marlow.”

“Oh Mom—can I?”
