Previously: As it happened, the Slater brothers and their remaining gang picked now to enter the town of Flyspeck—the selfsame town as where the brothers were looking for trouble, “Hey Paulo—gringos!”
“Si,” Paulo replied, “You think we should kill them?”
Meanwhile—In Danger Bay… “We must catch-up to the train,” James Silverthorn had heard that the Adventure Train was departing Moosehead City, “Where’s Cujo when we need her?”
“Right here, Kuckunniwi,” Cujo replied, The train will stop atop the bluff to add a car—that car is for you and your braves. You will be needed. It will arrive in ten minutes—ride like the wind.”
Season 12—Adventure 1—Episode 7…The Adventure Train awaited… James Silverthorn and his warriors arrived just the RR crew finished attaching the car to the train.
The engineer decided to add wood and water (not that the train required either wood or water with its biodiesel hybrid-electric drive) while the car was attached.
Chris took it upon herself to give a tour of the special features of the train—she began in the personal quarters, “At each end of this, and the car that was just added, is a door leading to our personal quarters.”
“As you can see, there are apartments on each side of this corridor,” Chris continued, “If you’ll check your tickets you’ll find your assigned apartments. The size of the apartment is matched to your needs—couples have the larger ones.”
“Ah,” Merle commented, “This one appears to be mine. It has a computer—why? There is no web!”
“There IS web—thanks to Cujo,” Chris smiled, “You can thank her.”
“FACEBOOK!” Linda exclaimed, “I can regale friends with our exploits.”
“I KNOW, huh,” Chris also exclaimed, “Like ANYONE would believe you.”
“I was exercising #irony.”
“What is this ‘faceboohk’ you, one’s old bean, speak of?” Harriot asked, “Heavens above! How smashing!”
“I’ll show you, later, Paul,” Linda grinned—wickedly.
“One is all a-twitter, as it were,” Harriot replied, “One has another question, if you do not mind, terribly.”
“Ask it,” Chris answered.
“How in tarnation—is there an upper floor on this car that can’t be seen on the outside?!”
“By jove—One’s old bean believes Paul is beginning to acclimatize,” Chris laughed.
Meanwhile—Still in the small town of Flyspeck on the way to Dakota Territory… The Slater gang seemed unfazed, or perhaps, they didn’t hear Paulo’s question, as they continued into the town.
“Hey Gringos, my brother wants to know if we should kill you.”
“Because,” Miles Slater replied as all four drew their side arms, “It would be stupid of you to try—are you that stupid.”
“On the other hand,” Edward Slater added, “We could use a couple more guns—even if they are carried by ‘stupidos’.”
“You pay money?”
“We don’t kill you,” Miles replied, “The money? You have to earn.”
“What do you think my brother?”
“Living is a good thing, Paulo.”
To be continued…
