Off The Dusty Trail!

Siege of Fort Justice Banner Previously: “And I will show you around,” Linda grinned, “How do you feel about games of chance?”

“Forest City?”

“Yep, Silverthorn’s Casino. What was Forest County is now part of Moosehead County. It’s a great place to start your county tour.”

“Only if we stop first at our own new home,” Ralph grinned, “Camille Farkleberry owns it—next door to Cousin Boomer’s place.”

“You’re full of surprises.”

“Saturday was quite useful for me as well,” Paul added, “Thanks to Cam, as well, I’ll be closing next week on my ‘English Style” pub—which includes living quarters.”

“A pub? REALLY?” Boomer quipped, “By all means, let’s go see it!”

“How about by car,” Paul replied, “It’s a dreadfully long walk.”

“Touché!”

Season 12—Adventure 3—Siege of Fort Justice—Episode 2… Linda and Ralph soon arrived at the cabin next door to Boomer’s house. Camille Farkleberry agreed to meet them there.

Ralph mentioned this is a rental “Ralph mentioned this is a rental—would you consider selling it?”

After a tour of the cabin Linda had but one question, “Ralph mentioned this is a rental—would you consider selling it?”

“I hadn’t—until now. Let’s talk—but I should warn you about your next-door neighbor…”

“Do you think he’d be getting a raw-deal, considering how I used to torment him back in the fifties?”

About two hours later…

Paul, Boomer, Mac, and Camille arrived at the pub, “Great location, Paul—next door to a successful motel—with Karen’s Cozy Cabins also close-by, about a half-mile away.”

“I think so too, Mac,” Paul replied, “I met Karen Thayer on Saturday and learned she and Doc McLean both appreciate fine ale.”

“Well—another satisfied client,” Cam grinned, “Paul was waiting for your approval before we ‘officially’ closed the deal. Now I don’t have to rip-up the paperwork. Congratulations Paul-the-pub-owner!””

MEANWHILE—Back in 1873…

Dalton’s raiders had crossed over into Colorado and everyone was relieved to get out of the dust and into a green prairie where it was cooler.

It had taken the group about thirty days to get this far but they were in no hurry. There had been plenty of stagecoaches to relieve the passengers of their material items. One even had a payroll on it which was unexpected. No more Pinkerton men were found.

Lacy had a plan for their crossing of the southern half of Utah before they reached the border and Fort Justice. She discussed this plan with Edward and Arturo, “There is a town along the Colorado River and while the stagecoaches have been enough to sustain us so far we need an influx of money to get plenty of ammunition and supplies. I know Fort Justice is undermanned so we should have no problems but the miners may be another story. We must be prepared, agreed?”
