“Well, lass?”

2015 Port of Danger Bay BannerPreviously: Both noticed the haze, “Alpha-Jack, how is it there is haze—isn’t cyber St. Paul covered by computer-controlled climate?”

“It is! Perhaps we should consult Councilmember Thune.”

“Maybe after we get some food—we missed breakfast.”

“Oxendale’s Market is close, we’ll head there.”

“Maybe the climate control failure is localized—just here,” Daisy suggested.

They found Oxendale’s cloudy, “Nope, not here.”

“We can go to the K-Mart, they have the best price on my favorite food.”

So—they headed down the road—and what did they find?

IRL Boomer’s Macho Minivan!

“Wait! How can IRL me be here?” Boomer asked.

“A warp in the Cyber & IRL World border?”

“LOOK! IRL me is coming out of the store!”

Cue: “Twilight Zone Theme”

Season 12—Adventure 4—2015 Port of Danger Bay—Episode 6…

“We can’t run into my IRL self,” Boomer declared, “Let’s get outa here!”

“And go where, exactly?”

“I gotta think—I KNOW! My favorite place to shoot photos!”

“Why there?”

“It’s where I do my best thinking.”

Boomer and Daisy stopped on Cherokee Heights “We’d best get out of here—NOW!”

“THAT explains a lot!” Daisy cracked.

“We’d best get out of here—NOW!”

“Why? Oh wait! IRL you will stop here, if the weather simply changed in the Real World!”

“EXACTLY!

About four hours later—on MN Hwy 61, just south of Grand Marais, Minnesota…

HEY!” Boomer exclaimed, “Didja see that?”

“See what?”

MN Hwy 61, just south of Grand Marais “See what?”

“That car.  It was a ’59 Chrysler Imperial—just the kind of car we see in cyber Danger Bay!”

“We’re HOME!” Daisy bayed, tail a-wag.

MEANWHILE—Back in Danger Bay at the Tardis Tavern… Mac & Merle met with Archie, “Ach, Sir Paul is nay here, lads—he’s off enjoying Boomer’s runabout.”

“That’s fine,” Mac rumbled, “You ARE the manager, and we have some great news.”

Mac & Merle met with Archie “AND we brought samples!”

“We have signed contracts—both for craft beers and wines & spirits,” Merle added, “AND we brought samples!”

“Spoken by a true Scotsman!” Archie grinned, “Let’s have a taste.”

“We have already, Archie—taste on, lad,” Mac replied.

Archie gave each sample a taste—but like Mac and Merle never swallowed, “I’m nay an expert with wines, but found none in the lot I’d eliminate. Perhaps we can have Sarah Cooper stop by and give us her opinion.”
Sarah was delighted to be asked to help and arrived within a half hour. She sampled each—like the others did not swallow.

“Well, lass?”

“I can’t pick a favorite, nor can I eliminate any,” Sarah smiled, “I’m a little embarrassed to admit I had no idea there were wineries producing such fine wine in the county.”

“How many people in the county know you’re a master quilter?”

“Shhhhh, Mac,” Sarah admonished, “It’s a hobby not a business.”

“Kin ye make a Scot’s tartan?”

“SEE?”

About the same time—in Grant Park, Chicago… Wyatt nodded, “Think of all the history we have seen though. This has been an amazing trip. I have enjoyed the time we have spent together. I cannot think of anyone else I would rather have done this with. How about next year we start in Elk City again but go west this time.  Let’s see if California does a better job of honoring history.”

Chris smiled and agreed they should do that. “I have enjoyed it very much too Wyatt. You are great fun to travel with.”

They stayed in Chicago a couple of days enjoying the restaurants and bars.  Shopped in some silly places to get souvenirs for everyone. Then started their journey homeward through Wisconsin and back to Minnesota.
