2015 Port of Danger Bay BannerPreviously: About the same time—in Grant Park, Chicago… Wyatt nodded, “Think of all the history we have seen though. This has been an amazing trip. I have enjoyed the time we have spent together. I cannot think of anyone else I would rather have done this with. How about next year we start in Elk City again but go west this time.  Let’s see if California does a better job of honoring history.”

Chris smiled and agreed they should do that. “I have enjoyed it very much too Wyatt. You are great fun to travel with.”

They stayed in Chicago a couple of days enjoying the restaurants and bars.  Shopped in some silly places to get souvenirs for everyone. Then started their journey homeward through Wisconsin and back to Minnesota.

Season 12—Adventure 4—2015 Port of Danger Bay—Episode 6… Their journey back was interesting as well—they stopped in Wisconsin Dells at the Moosejaw Pizza & Dells Brewing Company for a pizza and ale.

Wisconsin Dells is the epitome of the term “Tourist Trap,” a PERFECT place for me to visit—GENTLE READER—yes, indeed! And, like me, Chris & Wyatt enjoyed the diversion for several hours and a couple of tasty meals.

They stopped for lunch at My Cook Shanty, and afterwards played the role of tourists, and the Dells provided many an opportunity for them.

They visited Dells Army Duck Tours—and took the tour.

They visited Circus World.

They visited Mid-Continent Railway Museum.

And finally they visited Riverside & Great Northern Railway Museum and mini train ride.

Tired, but happy, they spent the night at one of several log-cabin style motels nearby, and got an early start back in I-94 eastbound to Minnesota.

They followed I-94 to I-694—and to I-35 north to Duluth. They stopped to eat at The Green Mill in Canal Park before heading home along Minnesota Highway 61.

They arrived home in the middle of the night—dog-tired—it would be hours before they were heard from again.

MEANWHILE—A day earlier… Boomer & Daisy were nearing Danger Bay—tired, but quite happy to be only a few miles from home—and a much-required appointment with their respective beds—when something totally unexpected happened, “Alpha-Jack! Your RW Penelope the Macho-Minivan JUST PASSED US—southbound!”

Stunned—Boomer didn’t respond immediately. How could this be?

“Cujo! Where ARE you?”

There was no reply.

There would be no reply. Cujo was not in the Real World—she simply can’t be. As you know—GENTLE READER—Real World Cujo crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2002—and can only exist in the Great Beyond and the cyber world of the Port of Danger Bay.

  3. Wake up and eat well, drive classic cars on classic trails, do touristy things in tourist places, eat well again, drink well and sleep well…..repeat…..’tis the life!
