Beyond the MOUNTAINS BLUE!

2015 Port of Danger Bay BannerPreviously: That broke the tension for a while—and our heroes drifted into mundane conversations. Their thoughts, however, continued to drift back to the on and off merging of the real and cyber worlds.

Soon they settled into small groups spread-out around the patio—small talk devolved into silently worrying about their future lives if Karma and Cujo failed.

Daisy was thinking about her response to Buttons—and realized that Pepper’s admonishment was deserved, “You’re right, Pepper—I was assuming. And Schwärzentaube & Pluribux Baldja are very clever. You know who else is very clever? Someone who’s tall-tales and what we believe to be delusions AND who is only of cyberspace…”

Daisy didn’t finish her sentence before she—DISAPPEARED!

Season 12—Adventure 4—2015 Port of Danger Bay—Episode 12… And reappeared in the ether—followed closely by Larry FlutterMatters!

“Why am I here?” Daisy asked.

“Wait!” Cujo replied, a split second before Flutters appeared.

Daisy & Flutters arrive in the ether

“Why am I here?”

“You both are here because you are the only entities in the entire universe,” Cujo replied, “Who stand a chance of returning it to a hard separation of the cyber-world and the real world.”

“How—exactly?”

“By having Flutters channeling “The Master.”

“Methinks,” thinks FlutterMatters, “Reality is only a question of presence. Thinking during a moment of reflection FlutterMatters recalls that ‘respect’ in this cyberspace must be much like fleas hosted – this is where dispersions might be assumed but really shouldn’t – by some but not all brown and whites – where like those tiniest creatures it hops around as required. As for being a team – well! The millisecond the brown and white asks for a scratch behind the ears.” [Written as a blog comment by Larry Yatkowsky, 19 Oct 2010

“Ah, Flutters, you never disappoint,” Daisy’s tail a-wag, “I suspect the reason we’ve been brought here…”

“Is because Flutters only exists in cyberspace—as far as we know,” Karma finished Daisy’s thought, “Its past-time we encouraged him to actually channel the Master, and we need you to keep him focused on that task.”

“Okay Flutters, I accept that the entity you refer to as ‘The Master’ is real, please tell us about him.”

“You must come with me, Brown & White,” Flutters seemed not to be delusional—perhaps he never was in the past, “To the place beyond the mountains-blue, where we will find the Master—he really wishes to meet you.”

And with THAT—they were gone.

In what seemed like hours, they returned.

Daisy looked completely drained, Flutters—well Flutters was his usual self,Schwärzentaube & Pluribux Baldja have been brought to the Master’s lair beyond the mountains-blue, and the separation between cyber and real worlds is now absolute. Sadly, Daisy now must deal with being of three places at one time—the Master has taken a fancy to the Brown & White.”

AR-ROOOO!” Daisy bayed to end this Adventure.

This concludes Adventure 4, but our story? To be CONTINUED…

Daisy’s a busy girl! I’ll have to have more coffee to wrap my mind around the idea that Flutters may have never been delusional. 😉
