“The ‘Codgers’ have returned!”

Pioneer Moosehead County Banner ©Jack BoardmanPREVIOUSLY: “The REAL WORLD me passed away in 2009, and Big Mac convinced Boomer to remove me from the Danger Bay blog; I can only exist here, or in the Great Beyond. I would be 91 in the REAL WORLD. I was quite ill with cancer when I passed, but I’m feeling pretty great right now.”

“You were a big deal on the Active Rain REAL WORLD blog-site; many thought you were Boomer.”

“They were wrong; I was Carl McIntyre. Boomer was Boomer.”

“I’m glad you’re here, Grampa Jay, and glad I have you as a step-grampa!”

Season 13—Adventure 2—Pioneer Moosehead County—Episode 10—Scene 1…Exploring Level 2… Sarah and Chris led the others down to level 2 of the Parlor Car where they inspected one of the apartments.

“Each apartment houses two,” Sarah explained, “Although the decorations vary from apartment to apartment. The men and women’s indoor outhouses are at each end of the car, all 21st Century facilities; something you’ll come to appreciate.”

“I have a private apartment, Lacy,” Chris said, “I’d love to have you as a roommate.”

“I suppose I could take the couch and bunk with Juan and Jeb.”

“No need,” Chris replied, “Boomer, Flutters and Daisy have a room they used to share with Larry Yatkowsky. Larry was called back to his home in British Columbia; you may join them.”

Just then, Cujo appeared, visible only to our time-travelers, “Your weekend has ended folks, it’s time to return to the 21st Century.”

Scene 2…in front of Moosehead County Seat… “Congratulations Sheriff Boomer!”

“Uh, thanks… JAY?” Boomer was stunned, “You’re ALIVE!”

“Yup,” Jay Merton replied, “And so, I understand, is Medford Ambrose.”

“How about Harold Peterson?” Boomer asked, “And Fred Jaworski?”

“All of the Original Codgers™!” Jay exclaimed, “Mac will be placing illustration requests.”

“No need, Jay,” Mac rumbled, “You just did. In addition, you’ll have to make a new ‘Codger Lodge’ for Jay, Med, Harold and Fred.”

“There’s plenty of room in the Cabin-on-the-Rock, Carl,” Boomer laughed, “You can share.”

“Hold on,” Jay interrupted, “We have our own plans already; we’re going to live in Lakeview City and run a lake tour operation. With a little luck, I suspect a couple of cabins in the bluff will become available. If you make that happen, Boomer.”

“You could move into the cabin located at Hidden Cove, and base your boat there.”

“No harm in checking the cabin out, I guess.”

“This is wonderful,” Sarah beamed, “The ‘Codgers’ have returned!”

Thus ends Adventure 2—but our story? To be CONTINUED…
