“Are you sure?”

Moosehead County Story Banner II ©Jack BoardmanPreviously: “I see what you mean about ‘having control’ of the airplane—you’re right about it practically taking itself off—who knew?”

“It IS a HOOT, isn’t it,” Boomer replied to the widely grinning Alphonso, “This airplane requires only a little more than 910’ to get airborne. Now that we’re over the lake you may have some fun—practice turning 90º both to port and starboard. You’ll need to watch the compass as the lake has few landmarks.”

After about twenty minutes of weaving through the sky Boomer said, “Give me the controls, please.”

“You have the controls.”

Boomer plotted the course and put the airplane on autopilot—setting the airspeed at 400 mph. They’d be over Danger Bay in less than two hours.

Meanwhile—in Moosehead City… Mac put their plan in action…

Season 13—Adventure 4—Moosehead County—Episode 6—Scene 1… At the Danger Bay Lofts… Each unit is a two-story; each of 1,000 square feet. The lower level consists of two large bedrooms each with a full bath—and an open second level with the kitchen, dining and living areas.

“Well,” Linda asked after they toured the unit, “What do you think?”

Linda showed Sarah the model loft ©Jack Boardman“What do you think?”

“It’s perfect!” Sarah exclaimed, “But, how can we afford this—we don’t have jobs.”

“This is Danger Bay—you both already have jobs.”

“Really? Where and what?”

“The writer of these stories hasn’t determined that yet.”

“My dad?”

“Yeah—he doesn’t always think that far ahead. Come up with what you want to do and suggest it to him.”

“Hmmmm… a tenured professor of Francophone Literature would be perfect.”

“Aaaah,” Linda smiled, “I’m sure the University of Minnesota-Danger Bay will be posting such a position—very soon!”

“There’s U of M branch here? What about Alphonso?”

“Not yet—there will be,” Linda laughed, “And as far as a job for Alphonso—I hear Farkleberry’s needs a gas-pump jockey…”

“He wouldn’t.”

“Are you sure?”

Season 13—Adventure 4—Moosehead County—Episode 6—Scene 2… On Overlook Drive… “So—what’s the plan?”

They met overlooking Moosehead City ©Jack Boardman“So—what’s the plan?”

“Settle-down Debra,” Mac rumbled—with a wide grin, “Tug captains—Lyle Pettigrew says there are no big boats scheduled to arrive in port for two weeks, so tug captains—give your crews the next two weeks off…”

“And have the brawlers visit the Moosehead City bars—right?”

“Boomer said you were quick, Joey. Yes, exactly, but brawling is not necessary—watching, listening and otherwise gathering information.”

“Alphonso said the plan was to have two operatives hanging-out—just observing. They’ll be followed by several hit-squads.”

“Is there a way to stop those hit-squads before they gather?”

“They’re coming from Chicago. AJ? I’ll need you to watch for incoming flight-plan notifications.”

“We could close the airfield for runway maintenance.”

“Do it!”
