“Frontier gear?”

“I’m fine, Jay,” O’Donnell replied, “These fellas have some information for the sheriff.”

“Good morning, fellas,” Sarah smiled, “How may we help you?”

“Good mornin’ ma’am, I’m Colonel Jack Yatters, US Army, retired, and my friend here is Lt. Colonel Larry Boreman, USAF, retired, “And this is our story…”

Yatters repeated in detail what they’d observed about their paintball opponents—finishing with, “I believe they’re insurrectionist, anti-government types to begin with, and one of them said, and I quote, “Someday soon, this county will lose a couple of traitors—and will be better-off for it.’ I asked what he meant and got only a smile for a reply.”

Season 13—Adventure 6—KIDNAPPED—Episode 10—Scene 1… Inside O’Donnell’s Bar… “Do you know where they’re staying?”

“Not for certain, but when they leave they turn onto the road leading to the high bluffs.”

“Are these fellas your opponents?” Jay looking toward the door asked.

“Yup,” Yatters replied, “Two of them—the braggarts.”

“You guys ready to lose,” Boreman quipped as they entered, “Again?”

“Shove it, Yank,” Ed Franklin growled, “South gonna rise again today!”

“Raiot-ON,” Jay Cooper drawled, purposely accentuating his natural accent, “Give’m hail!”

“You a Southern boy?”

“West Virginia.”

“They went with the North…”

“Not my county—we raised a whole regiment for the South.”

“Wal,” Franklin replied, “Y’ought t’ join us today.”

“Why not?” Jay replied, “I gotta go home and get my Jeep and drop-off my wife.”

“Great—here’s where to meet us,” Franklin smiled as he handed Jay a map.

“And get an earful” Sarah thought, as they left O’Donnell’s.

“I know what you’re thinking, Sarah,” Jay said as they drove away.

“Only the ‘are you out of your mind,’ part,” Sarah replied, “Not the ‘way to go and I know you’ll be careful’ part. I’ll get ahold of Boomer and let him know what’s going-on—so we can have your back.”

KIDNAPPED—Episode 10—Scene 2—Twenty minutes later Inside Silverthorn’s Café… Sheriff Boomer’s secure phone chirped, he looked at the screen, the caller was Sarah Cooper, “Jay’s infiltrating a militia group—he’s convinced they may be the ones who kidnapped the Silverthorns.”

“Got it! Grab your time-traveling gear and I’ll notify the rest of our posse and the NCIS team—meet us at the Codger’s in Lakeview City.”

“Frontier gear?”

“Yup—while we may be better than average with modern weapons—we’re the best with our 19th Century arms.”

“Okay—got it!”

Lieutenant Silverthorn figured they had a lead on the location of his parents, “I want in!”

“No Hy, stay here—let us do what we do best—you’re too close and could jeopardize our operation.”

“I want in,” Hiram, Jr. insisted.

“Fine, round-up your deputies—you will form a buffer between those FBI jerks and our folks.”

“Okay, Boomer—I guess that’s the best I can hope for from an incorrigible sheriff.”

“You got that right.”
