Karen’s Kozy Kabins

Back to Normal Banner ©Jack BoardmanPreviously: “Considering you will occupy all my rooms—no extra cost,” Med replied, ‘Please sign our register, and I’ll need to see your ID’s and record your license plate numbers.”

“No problem,” Willie Running Fox replied, “Here are our plate numbers.”

An hour later they were all registered and on their way out for a day of fishing—or were they?

Back to Normal?— Episode 3—Scene 2… Deputies Eagle Talon & Silverthorn arrived at the Codger Lodge™ and noted the cars parked outside.

Silverthorn ran the plated and (big surprise} found no issues.

“I was just about to call, Deputy,” Med greeted the deputies, “I have a bad feeling about my guests.”

It is DIFFICULT to get something past a Codger™!

Season 13—Adventure 7—Back to Normal?—Episode 4—Scene 1… Still at the Codger Lodge™, “What kind of bad feeling?”

The deputies arrived at the Codger Lodge™ ©Jack Boardman“What kind of bad feeling?”

“They’re not fishermen to begin with, Sergeant,” Med replied, “They don’t speak ‘fishermen’ at all—they’ve likely never baited a hook in their collective lives.”

“I’ll run their plates, Sarge.”

“Do that Jim—then contact Sheriff Boomer and update him on everything we got so far.”

“Yup.”

“Do you think they’ll hit the casino?” Medford asked.

“Only if they’re complete idiots,” Eagle Talon replied, “That place has Fort Knox quality security. Then again; they may just be complete idiots. I’ll call security there and advise them.”

“The plates are counterfeit,” Jimmy said as he returned, “Boomer wants us to head over to Karen’s and see if they’re there as well. He also asked that we not arrest them over the plates—he wants to save that option for later.”

“Bet you lunch that Sheriff Boomer has his special deputies getting into position already.”

“No bet, Sarge—in fact, I’ll bet he’s had them mobilized from the get-go.”

Back to Normal?— Episode 4—Scene 2… One of our oldest characters—one I almost forgot about—is Karen Thayer. Y’see, Karen is the wife of Doctor Odessa DeWitt McLean—and the owner of “Karen’s Kozy Kabins” (formerly located next door to “PawZ” on the South Bluff, now located on the North Bluff—again next door to PawZ). She was created by @Judith12 (Twitter) in 2009.

Karen Thayer’s story (26 June 2009): From Judith (@Judith12 on Twitter): Karen Thayer, a striking woman, athletic body; 5 ft 9 in, 168 lbs, more salt than pepper hair, dark brown eyes, in her late fifties, former teacher (English & theatre) in the New York City school system, recently widowed, took early retirement. Visited Minnesota on vacation with husband (Harold, recently deceased) years ago, they often dreamed / spoke of going back to open a B&B when they retired. Now she has! […]

Sadly, my friend @Judith12 unexpectedly died in 2011.

Let’s take a peek at the NEW Karen’s Kozy Kabins!

Doc McLean has received a slight makeover… the lab coat version has ape-like arms in the image above. He’s received a new lab-style coat (made from a bush jacket) that eliminates those out-sized arms and hands. :-/
