Previously: Jerry Carlson could not bring himself to believe that anyone as old as Mac could be so strong—and so fast.
The rest of the biker-wannabes surrendered without a fuss.
Sara Running Deer, William and James White Eagle, Tatonga Rushing Water, Thomas Lonewolf, Willie Howling Coyote, James Laughing Brook, and Eddie Standing Bear, were aboard the “Superior Traveler” where they were monitoring their operations.
As news reports began trickling in, they made the decision to not return to the lodge.
A week later the boat was found drifting on the lake.
There was nobody on board.
Season 13—Adventure 8—Every Day Danger Bay—Episode 1—Scene 1… Deputy Sheriff James Silverthorn reported for his first day of work as non-trainee—and he was a bit apprehensive.
Although he’d known Chief Deputy Wyatt Earp, IV since he was in grade school, he was apprehensive—this was a man of legend—descended from THE Wyatt Earp of Tombstone Arizona fame, or notoriety, depending upon who was telling the story, he was worried he wouldn’t measure up.
He took a deep breath—and walked through the door. And found his uncle Hiram, Special Deputy AJ Boardman, and Wyatt Earp. There was a deputy behind the counter he didn’t know.
He took a deep breath—and walked through the door.
“Ready for your first full day?”
“No, Uncle Hiram, not after seeing you here to greet me,” Jimmy replied—with a grin.
“If you’ll stop harassing my new deputy, Hy,” Wyatt interrupted, “I’ll begin my rehearsed orientation speech.”
“Nephew harassment is required in the Silverthorn family, y’know.”
“And expected,” Jimmy added, “I would be disappointed if Uncle Hiram didn’t harass me.”
“This office is the only satellite sheriff’s office in the county,” Wyatt began, “As we are the farthest town from Moosehead City. This is also the only other county jail aside from, again Moosehead City.”
“Prisoners remain here generally just a few hours before being transferred to the main jail—there are no prisoners here at the moment. The desk is manned from 0800 to 1630 hours daily, by deputies who work both here and in Moosehead City.”
“Tina Carlson is our full-time desk officer and dispatcher. And on weekends, Deputy James Wilson covers the desk, and he works Monday and Tuesday at the Moosehead City desk.”
“The Chief Desk Deputy is Sylvia Moore who works Wednesday through Sunday. Vacation coverage for these three deputies is handled by regular patrol deputies as needed.”
“Excuse me, Wyatt,” Tina interrupted, “I have a call—it seems that some bikers are harassing Charlie Johnson—claiming he failed to deliver—or something—I can’t quite figure it out. The caller hung-up when I asked for more information.”
“Okay,” Wyatt grinned, “Let’s go Jimmy.”
