Soon they’d be on the road

Previously: “But the sound they make…” Debra interrupted.

“…Will be exactly the same as their gasoline fueled counterparts,” Charlie replied, “They’ll sound and feel just like you experienced in what you call the real world—just like your tugboats.”

“You know about the ‘Real World’?” Wyatt asked.

“I’ve heard rumors—it is not a place I’d willingly visit.”

“Based upon what I’ve learned from my girlfriend about the Real World,” Wyatt added, “It’s not a place I’d want to live—and my boss, Sheriff Boomer, along with Chief Deputy Shouse, both say this is a better place to live.”

“It will get a whole lot better when we get our bikes.” Debra laughed.

“Well—then,” Charlie said, “Let’s go deliver your bikes.”

Moments later—they were standing in front of their new motorcycles.

“Well?” Charlie asked.

Season 13—Adventure 8—Every Day Danger Bay—Episode 3—Scene 1… At Charlie’s… “Awesome,” Joey exclaimed—that sentiment was echoed by Debra as they examined the bikes and prepared to road test their motorcycles—all smiles.

No one there was quite certain they’d EVER return.

“I’m about ready for some fair and free trade, extra-dark Sumatra-roast coffee,” Wyatt said and he climbed into the squad, “Let’s visit the Codger Café.”

“Herbal tea for me,” Jimmy replied, “Lakeview City—here we come, so git yer wives and daughters inside!”

“Typical for one so young—warning them.”

Wyatt and Jimmy departed—they were, after all, on a county-wide training session.

Every Day Danger Bay—Episode 3—Scene 2…On Historic US 61… Both our hero bikers were feeling hunger pangs when they came across a place called the “Tin Shack Buffet.”

“It may not be a trendy gourmet place, but going by the number of cars in the lot, it may just settle my need for food.”

“I’m with you on that, Deb. Check it out—there’s a biker in front.”

“Hey—either of you interested in buyin’ my bike? I’ve hit a rough spot and need the money.”

“Sorry, man,” Debra replied, “We just picked-up these ‘cycles—and are road-testing them.”

“We know people,” Joey added, “We’ll ask around.”

When they got inside and out of earshot, Debra suggested a call to Wyatt and Jimmy, “They just might be interested—the bike’s probably stolen.”

Joey agreed, “He doesn’t look like he could afford that ‘cycle—from the odor permeating about him, I suspect his money goes for booze.”

“Thanks Debra,” Wyatt replied to her call, “Jimmy and I will be there in ten minutes.”

“Joey,” Debra said seconds later, “Let’s go back outside and make nice to our new friend.”

“And keep him occupied until the cavalry arrives. I’ll grab him a beer—you keep him occupied.”
