“I’m sure Mr. Peterson enjoyed the demonstration.”

County Attorney Banner ©Jack BoardmanPreviously: James William “Petey” Peterson simply couldn’t keep his mouth shut, “You know no prison can hold me—I’ll be gone before you take-off to go home.”

Chris did not take the bait—instead, she engaged in a series of aerobatics violent enough to scare the bejesus out of an experienced pilot—much less than a loud-mouthed tough-guy wannabe.

“Are you going to keep quiet?”

“Okay—OKAY!” He exclaimed as Chris put the Lightning into a series of barrel-rolls, “STOP!

Chris completed three more such rolls before righting the airplane—an effective exclamation point. Peterson said nothing the rest of the flight.

Season 13—Adventure 9—County Attorney—Episode 2—Scene 1… In Judge Fisher’s courtroom… “Ambrose, I need to move-on,” County Attorney Alphonso announced, “My role here has always been on an as needed basis—and now with this new Adventure, ‘County Attorney’ we’re being the main focus of the story—the role has expanded past where I should be involved.”

Alphonso Jones met with Judge Fisher ©Jack Boardman“Ambrose, I need to move-on…”

“Very well, the judge replied, “I’ll contact the county board immediately and have them post the special election notice. It’s good that we don’t have all that many cases like the last one—it is entirely possible you won’t be needed.”

“We may hope, Grampa-in-Law.”

“Hope and a quarter will get you a cup of coffee.”

“Do you call that vending machine brown liquid ‘coffee,’ really?”

“I call it ‘available,’ I say nothing about its quality,” the judge replied, “Nice haircut.”

County Attorney—Episode 2—Scene 2… On the overlook above Danger Bay Airfield… Wyatt watched Chris returning from Lake Elmo and hoped they’d have some time together between law enforcement crises.

As Chris began to descend for her landing, Wyatt climbed into his squad and drove down to meet her and help her put the P38 to bed—so to speak.

When Wyatt arrived Chris was just taxiing up to the hanger—he was just on time to help her get the airplane inside.

It takes some work to get an airplane the size (and weight) moved into a hangar taking care not to hit other airplanes—but they managed without so much as coming close to scratching any airplane.

Soon they were on their way, “How was the flight?”

“Mostly uneventful—after I did a few aerobatics.”

“I’m sure Mr. Peterson enjoyed the demonstration.”

“He was pretty quiet—AFTERWARDS.”

“Scared near to death I suspect.”

“He didn’t say.”
