Season 14—Adventure 1—Arrival—Episode 1—Scene 1… Outside Silverthorn’s Café… Lacy Dalton-Shouse arrived—finally in the Port of Danger Bay. She had left St. Joseph, Missouri twenty days ago—her vintage car could only reach fifty-five miles per hour and she had to stay off the freeways.
Lacy Dalton-Shouse arrived—finally in the Port of Danger Bay
It was, however, not all that unpleasant to drive the back highways and county roads. She took her time—stopping frequently to take-in the scenery.
And too—she would dally a bit, here and there whenever she found something interesting—a scenic back road—a quaint gift shop—a lake—to visit and collect her thoughts.
The whole notion of living in her future—near her Great-Granddaughter caused her mind to boggle, while at the same time marvel at the opportunity Cujo had provided her.
She sighed and walked into the café.
Arrival—Episode 1—Scene 2… Inside Silverthorn’s Café… “Good morning!” a woman obviously of native ancestry greeted her, “I’m Kiwi Silverthorn—WELCOME!”
“Good morning!”
“Good morning,” She replied, “I’m Lacy Dalton-Shouse out of Saint Joseph, Missouri—pleased to meet you—and desperate for coffee.”
“Fresh, hot coffee coming right up,” Kiwi said, “Are you by chance, related to…”
“Chris Shouse?” Lacy finished Kiwi’s question, “Yes, cousins.”
“She just left for a meeting with at the Sheriff’s office,” Kiwi replied, “Oh—forgive my manners—let me introduce Todd McCoy, Karen Thayer and Doc McLean.”
“Pleased to meet you all—Chris has mentioned you enough so I feel I know you already,” she replied, “By the way, I’ve accepted a position with Heck O’Reilly and Charlie Johnson. Where are they located?”
“Just follow Historic US 61 out-of-town about five miles and look for a huge covered bridge on your left, cross the bridge and you’re there.”
“Have you found a place to live?” Karen asked.
“Not yet.”
“First month’s rent is free, for you,” Karen grinned, “I own ‘Karen’s Kozy Cabins’ located between here and the warehouse complex. Stop in after you visit Heck & Charlie.”
Talk about hospitality—GENTLE READER! Wow!
