Season 14—Adventure 2—Strykerville—Episode 3—Scene 1… “I’m Curly James, and this in Moe Larson.”
“Umm, pleased to meet you, I think,” Stryker replied, “Why the guns? You expectin’ trouble?”
Medlar Farkleberry smiled—said nothing—but depressed the emergency-talk button on his communications device (this connects with the sheriff’s office).
“I’m Curly James, and this in Moe Larson.”
“Only if you try to stop our takeover of this-here jerkwater town,” Larson replied.
“Oh—we’re gonna try,” Stryker started to reply—Farkleberry interrupted him with…
“Jist hang-on a second, Adolph! I see a business opportunity here.”
“NOW—you’re talking our language,” Curly grinned, “We offer an 80-20% split—we get the 80%.”
“We have you out-gunned,” Moe snickered.
“Only for the moment,” Farkleberry laughed, “Y’hear them engines in the distance? Gittin’ closer?”
Episode 3—Scene 2… Over the Forest Road… “Okay, kids,” Mac radioed his flight, “Switch your guns to fire blanks.”
“How?” Joey asked.
“The red selector switch—lower left just above the landing gear selector.”
“Blanks selected,” Debra confirmed, followed closely by Joey and Lacey.
“Everybody—test your guns!” Mac ordered.
“Everybody—test your guns!”
Each airplane put out an impressive firepower display.
“Form echelon-right with Joey on my wing and Lacey on Debra’s wing—maintain that formation until I order a change. Follow me!”
“Roger that, Boss,” Joey confirmed the order, “We gonna have us some FUN!”
“Tell it, Joey!” Debra replied.
“YEEEE-HAW!” Lacey exclaimed.
Big Mac smiled broadly as his radar operator, Sarah Cooper opined, “I hope blanks are all it takes to convince these guys to go away.”
“Amen,” Mac replied over the intercom, “AMEN!”
“Do you think that will work?”
“No telling for certain, Sarah—let’s hope.”
Episode 3—Scene 3… Over Stryker Service…They heard rumble of massed airplanes approaching long before they could see them—the fighter-planes were flying BELOW the treetops.
“I reckon you fellers better pay attention—they’re gonna give yuh a demonstration of what they kin do to yuh,” Farkleberry grinned, “It’s gonna be a pretty sight—fer us!”
The sound of the fighter-planes continued to grow louder—and LOUDER until they burst up over the trees and cut-loose with a barrage of .50 caliber machine-gun and 20mm cannon fire.
They burst up over the trees and cut-loose…
The combined engine and gunfire was deafening—and the look on the gangster’s faces—priceless!
Do you think it will end here, GENTLE READER? Yeah—neither do I.
