Season 14—Adventure 3—Sheriffs—Episode 5—Scene 1… In Farenholt’s Cabin… Sylvester Farenholt was working at his desk and concentrating on the spreadsheet in front of him and wasn’t expecting visitors, and jumped a little at the knock on the door.
He quickly recovered his composure as he glanced through the door window and saw a Minnesota State Trooper—a lieutenant at that, smiling at him.
He smiled in return as he opened the door, “Hello Lieutenant…”
“McCoy, Todd McCoy, and my partner, Lightning,” McCoy smiled as Farenholt let him in the cabin, “This place has been vacant for at least a decade, and I saw tire tracks at the end for the driveway—so I stopped-in to see who made the tracks.”
“McCoy, Todd McCoy, and my partner, Lightning”
“Good to know you folks pay attention. I bought this place through Eagle Realty in Grand Marais. We closed two weeks ago.”
“Welcome to the neighborhood,” McCoy replied. No one’s fool, McCoy was certain this was from where the hitmen responsible for murdering Oliver & Blanch Schmidt had come, “If there’s any problems requiring our help-here’s my card with our local headquarters’ number.”
“Thank you, Lieutenant,” Farenholt breathed a hearty sigh of relief as McCoy departed.
Episode 5—Scene 2… A remote section of County Road 63… “It’s been nice chatting with you fellas,” Larson said, “But we best get back before the boss gets peeved.”
“Yeah, you’re right, Larson,” Fensterwald grinned, “For some of us.”
“For some of us.”
“What do you mean?” Fensterwald asked, “Are we splitting up?”
“Yup, you two fellas are sort of staying behind.”
“Yeah,” Wilcox added, “As fish food.”

Episode 5—Scene 2… Minnesota State Patrol—Moosehead County Division office… “Hello Sheriff,” Desk Sergeant Ambrose greeted, “What can we do for you?”
“Get that no-account McCoy in here! He’s attempting lure two of my deputies here with promises of cheap beer and cheaper wimmin!”
“He’s out in the garage, I’ll call him in,” Ambrose laughed, then spoke into the intercom, “Todd, Sheriff Boomer is here—and boy is he pissed!”
“Todd, Sheriff Boomer is here—and boy is he pissed!”
“Hey Boomer,” Todd greeted as he entered the office, “I was just about to call you.”
“About what?” Boomer asked, “Tryin’ to lure one of my best deputies, and another who shows a lot of promise?”
