Season 14—Adventure 3—Sheriffs—Episode 6—Scene 1… Outside the Minnesota State Patrol Office… “That would be correct,” Todd replied, “And to tell you what I found in the woods.”

“Let’s take this outside, sucker,” Boomer hissed (for effect), “So—you are willing to hire those two lay-about deputies of mine, Will Eagle-Talon and Jimmy Silverthorn?”

“I sort of figured you’d like to get rid of them.”

“I sort of figured you’d like to get rid of them.”

“You can have them—with my blessing,” Boomer said, “Eagle-Talon is an excellent deputy, and Silverthorn has a lot of potential. They’ll both serve the Patrol well.”

“Wow!” McCoy exclaimed, “That was too easy!”

“Look Todd, Moosehead County is too small to contain those two,” Boomer wasn’t all that pleased to lose his deputies, “Besides, with this facility’s opening, you need them more than I do.”

“Thank you, Boomer,” Todd grinned, “Now—about what I found, thanks to your chopper.”

“Yes?”

“An old resort,” He began, “I met with a Sylvester Farenholt who has purchased the place. He seemed a little too smooth for my liking.”

“Someone we should watch?”

“Clearly.”

With that—the sheriff left.

“You and Lightning enjoy your visit?”

“We did Alpha-Jack, where to now?”

“We’re going to pay a courtesy-call to an old resort just across the border in Cook County.”

They wouldn’t leave wherever he’d planned on going—anytime soon.

Episode 6—Scene 2… A half-hour later at Farenholt’s Cabin… Boomer and Daisy arrived at Farenholt’s cabin, “Daisy—I smell a trap—scoot and find your dog friends! I see Flutters fluttering through the trees, have him find the gang.”

“Daisy—I smell a trap…”

“We’re outta here—c’mon Bird-Brain!”

“Mr. Farenholt, we got company—oinker at the door.”

“Oinker?”

“Cop!”

“Let him in—by all means.”

Boomer walked-in, “Greetings, gentlemen. Why did you kill that old couple? Just so you know, they were Oliver & Blanch Schmidt, who were well-known and equally well-loved both here and in Moosehead County?”

Why did you kill that old couple?

“No one here killed anyone,” Farenholt replied, “You should be careful about making such unfounded statements.”

“No one here killed anyone…”

“Ya think?”
