Sheriff Boomer baits the Hook

Season 14—Adventure 4—Gangsters—Episode 6—Scene 1… Silverthorn’s Café… The Coopers and Boomer paid no obvious attention to McGinty & Anders as they walked to the counter and after the usual “Hi—how are ya?” exchange with Hiram Silverthorn, place their respective orders.

McGinty & Anders, however, paid attention to their presence.

“I don’t think he recognized you, William,” Anders observed.

“What makes you think that?”

“You were looking away as they passed,” She replied, “The sheriff glanced at us and tipped his cap and smiled. There was not even a glimmer of recognition in his expression.”

“That’s good—however it only buys us a little time,” He replied, “Go to the counter and get a coffee refill, and as you do—talk to the sheriff and the others.”

“I know what you’re thinking, and I agree,” Anders grinned as she walked to the counter, “May I have a refill, please? I was too busy talking and the coffee got cold.”

“Coming right up.”

“You folks are visitors to Danger Bay, I guess,” Sarah grinned, “I hope you’re enjoying your visit.”

“Oh—we ARE,” She replied, “We’re even thinking of relocating here after we get married. We’re both retired and this place seems senior-friendly.”

“It is senior-friendly,” Boomer added, baiting the hook, “I’m a senior and these friendly people elected me sheriff—because I’m pushing seventy—DAMMIT! Now—if you’ll excuse me, I must climb down into my little Triumph and head-out on patrol.”

Episode 6—Scene 2… Somewhere in a 19th Century town… Jimmy Hickok & Calamity Jane Burk left the Town Marshal’s office to explore the town, “You’re right, Jimmy—there ain’t a soul wearin’ a shootin’ iron.”

“That’s because this town has no connection to the outside world.”

The two spent the next several minutes (it IS a rather small town) exploring the town.

When they returned from their walk, Calamity asked, “I assume that’s your carriage?”

“It is—complete with my driver, Ace Jacks.”

“Let’s see how far we can go.”

“Okay, climb aboard—Odie—follow the road as far as we can go.”

Episode 6—Scene 2… Somewhere outside of a 19th Century town… “This simply can’t be,” James Butler Hickok exclaimed.

“Why not?”

“Unless,” Hickok thought out loud… Real World Boomer extended the road!

I kind of like the idea of a town you can explore in just a few minutes. 😀
