Season 14—Adventure 4—Gangsters—Episode 8—Scene 1… Rural Moosehead County… Sheriff Boomer couldn’t help but notice there was an unusual amount of traffic on Moosehead County Road 65—that black Mustang had been driving ahead of him for the last ten miles, and he’d seen that ’56 Buick before—at least twice.
Clearly—he was being followed.
And too—he’d seen a black 40s era Chevrolet a couple of times, as well.
He continued to drive as if he hadn’t noticed anything amiss.
Clearly—he was being followed.
He radioed Jay Cooper and advised him that the ambush was likely to occur soon.
Jay, Debra, Joey & Lacey brought their airplanes to maximum speed on a course for Moosehead CR 65 at an altitude of 5,000 feet.
Episode 8—Scene 2… Moosehead City… Sheriff Boomer, acting as though he was unaware he was being followed, drove at a leisurely pace through downtown Moosehead City.
He saw the ’56 Buick drive past on his left, noted the Mustang in front and the old Chevy following behind.
Boomer drove through Downtown Moosehead City
“All units,” He radioed, “I’m heading out of the city and will turn onto CR 65B, the gravel shortcut to Forest City. We’ll take them down there—less chance of civilian casualties.”
All ground and air units acknowledged the sheriff and headed in that direction. Now—if only the bad guys held-off their attack until the gravel road.
Boomer hit the gas as soon as he cleared the city to put some distance between him and his shadows. He noticed the Mustang accelerating with him and when CR 65B came-up in the middle of a curve, both cars turned.
The bad guys first blew past the intersection onto the straight highway beyond—and quickly turned around.
Episode 8—Scene 3… Moosehead CR 65B… They made it about a mile when they saw the sheriff’s car, the Mustang, and a crapload of police cars blocking the road.
And more squads in their rear-view mirrors.
And more squads in their rear-view mirrors.
And airplanes flying low overhead.
One of the assassin-wannabes thought to contact McGinty, “We were set-up! Surrounded by cops!”
To be CONTINUED…

LOL as usual, we were too smart for the bad guys and of course we have the advantage of knowing the territory. That was a whole lot of firepower 🙂
