“No, Mr. Bannon,” Carlson replied, “We can handle this.”

The others nodded in agreement.

Too bad—they would die along the way.

After they left, Bannon smiled, “That takes care of one problem—they won’t blow our cover.”

“Neither will I,” Lea replied, in a voice that left no doubt who was REALLY in charge.

“The hole is already dug, I got a couple of helpers from town to do the digging.”

“I reckon them helpers will join these poor folks in the hole.”

“Can’t say,” Ed replied, “But I’ll be alone in this-here wagon when I get back.”

Episode 7—Scene 3… On the road to Moosehead City… The bodies buried, the wagon driver was headed back to Forest City, when he saw a bunch of riders approaching. Those riders were—of course, our Rootin’-Tootin’ Posse.

They had ridden straight through Forest City as they had no business there.

The driver tipped his hat as they passed on his way back to Forest City.

The dog-people were distracted as they were escorting their humans by the scent of death. That scent led them to a freshly covered mass gravesite.

“Humans are buried here—very recently,” Cleo, after sniffing the dirt, declared, “We must tell the humans!”
