“Satisfied gentlemen?”

Sheriff Banner ©Jack BoardmanPREVIOUSLY: “So now we must find (choke) REAL JOBS?”

“The Silverthorns and Farkleberrys made that clear—and as the founding families they speak for all the permanent families. I can teach—what CAN you do—besides complain?”

“I can teach, too.”

“Teach what?”

“Photography & maybe open a camera shop.”

“See? That was easy—right?”

“Okay, smarty-britches, where are you going to teach?”

“I’ll be starting at Moosehead County College in two weeks—as a tenured professor.”

“Professor Smarty-Britches,” Joey laughed, “Perfect!”

“Smartass!”

Season 14—Adventure 8—Sheriff—Episode 3—Scene 1… At Joey’s Place… “So, what is your plan?” Debra asked.

“First—I’m going to trade-in my ratty old pick-up,” Joey replied, “Farkleberry claims to have the perfect replacement—I’m hoping for a late-model Chevy 4×4. I’m heading there now.”

“Good luck with THAT,” Debra laughed, “Medlar doesn’t seem to deal in late-model cars and trucks.”

“I’ll keep an open mind.”

“I’ll keep an open mind.” “I’ll keep an open mind.”

“Good idea.”

“2001 or newer.”

JOEY!

“A guy can dream—right?”

Episode 3—Scene 2… Farkleberry’s Service & Auto Sales… Joey, Boomer and AJ arrived—and Medlar Farkleberry greeted them with a wide smile, “I reckon you’d like to see your new custom rides—right?”

Boomer & AJ both grinned in anticipation—knowing of Lar’s knack for getting things just right—Joey looked worried.

“Everything’s ready for both of you fellers,” Lar Farkleberry grinned and dropping his ‘hayseed’ speech affectation, “I reckon you’d like to have a look? Now, before we go inside, Joey, Boomer and AJ both already know—all our vehicles are electric hybrid powered. As such they would run silently. We have installed engine noise simulators, they sound exactly like their fossil-fuel counterparts. You can make them annoyingly loud—or a muted rumble, as you wish. Go with the ‘muted’ option.”

“I LIKE muted rumble!” Joey exclaimed, “Let’s see what you’ve done.”

“Well-then,” Lar grinned, “C’mon inside.”

“A TRAILER!” Boomer exclaimed, “I totally forgot to mention that I would need one.”

Joey was mildly disappointed when he saw his truck—until he opened the door and saw the richly appointed interior.
