“I thought you died in Deadwood!”

Sheriff Banner ©Jack BoardmanPREVIOUSLY: “It’s nothing personal,” Hiram Silverthorn said, “It’s just that, except for a few people who know and understand that most of you are from a place you call the real world, people are taking notice of the fact none of you have jobs, other than law enforcement. We need our cops here all the time—not off saving our butts in the past.”

“Some of us are not of the ‘real world,’ this is our real world.”

“That’s true,” Hiram replied, “And you may keep your badges as-long-as you have deputies to cover your absence.”

“Well—I am of the past,” Calamity Jane said, “Why not build and open a ‘wild west show, like the one I worked with William F. Cody?”

“Perfect!” Chris exclaimed, “Let’s get going!”

Season 14—Adventure 8—Sheriff—Episode 5—Scene 1… Still at Silverthorn’s Café… “Where’s Jane?”

“She went to the past to find Buffalo Bill!” Chris replied, “Cujo sent her.”

Chris no more than finished her sentence when—

Calamity Jane returned along with William Francis “Buffalo Bill” Cody!

“Jimmy Hickok!” Cody exclaimed, “I thought you died in Deadwood!”

“James Butler Hickok—the Third,” Jimmy replied, “Great-Great Bastard Grandson of the original—at your service.”

“He was a randy old bastard,” Cody laughed, “You bear a strong resemblance to Hickok, we both rode for the Pony Express before the war.”

“Yup, I watched ‘The Young Riders’ on—I mean I read about your Pony Express experience with Grampa.”

“Watched?”

“I misspoke.”

Episode 5—Scene 2… Two weeks later at the Wild West grounds…  The grounds were ready to open and ready for business, “You folks don’t waste any time.”

“We do like to get things done, Bill,” Chris replied, “Now we have to get acts assembled to entertain our guests.”

“That sounds like gainful employment for you unemployed time travelers,” Wyatt quipped, “Unlike yours truly.”

Episode 5—Scene 3… Meanwhile—at the Cooper residence… “We must find jobs.”

“We must find jobs” ©Jack Boardman“We must find jobs.”

“Or create jobs, Jay,” Sarah replied, “We should play to our strengths.”

“A ‘fix-it’ shop for me!”

“And ‘Coopcrafts’ for me,” Sarah grinned, “But what about those times when we time-travel?”

“What about Ralph and Alice Jones?” Jay asked, “They’re often looking for things to do.”

“You’re right! Let’s go visit them.”

“They’ll be at Silverthorn’s Café!”

To be—CONTINUED…
