“How are yah?”

Sheriff Banner ©Jack BoardmanPREVIOUSLY: “We must find jobs.”

“Or create jobs, Jay,” Sarah replied, “We should play to our strengths.”

“A ‘fix-it’ shop for me!”

“And ‘Coopcrafts’ for me,” Sarah grinned, “But what about those times when we time-travel?”

“What about Ralph and Alice Jones?” Jay asked, “They’re often looking for things to do.”

“You’re right! Let’s go visit them.”

“They’ll be at Silverthorn’s Café!”

Season 14—Adventure 8—Sheriff—Episode 6—Scene 1… at Silverthorn’s Café… As expected—the Coopers found the Joneses at Silverthorn’s Café—Ralph short, with a head too big for his body—he had worked for forty years building furniture, by hand tools only. Ralph Smith Furniture was known throughout the state as some of the finest furniture one could hope to own.

Alice had worked down to Grand Marais as the owner-operator “Alice’s Women’s Clothing & Accessories,” the go-to place for the stylish women throughout the county. At age sixty, she sold the business to a wealthy woman from the “Cities,” who within a year, drove the business—out of business.

“G’Morning folks,” Jay drawled, “How are yah?”

“Fine, Jay, fine,” Ralph replied, “And you two?”

“We’re both good, Ralph. We’re considering opening a business. A ‘Fixit’ shop for me & a craft shop for Sarah…”

“We’d LOVE to help!” Alice exclaimed, “What can we do for you?”

“Maybe work for and with us?” Sarah replied, “We probably can’t pay very much, at least at the get-go.”

Ralph grinned, “Sixty-forty split with you on the short-end, and I’ll throw in my building and help you modify it for your needs.”

Alice glanced at Kiwi Silverthorn behind the counter—who was smiling, “We know you time-travel and you need someone to cover for your absence. We both win if we help you.”

Episode 6—Scene 2… Two weeks later—at the Cooper’s new shops… “We’re ready to open, I believe.”

“Yes, we are, Jay,” Sarah agreed and turned to Joneses, “Thank you so very much!”

“We benefit as well,” Alice replied, “It’s great to be needed.”

Episode 6—Scene 3… At Debra’s place… “I can’t stand this old truck anymore!”

“Really Deb? Farkleberry stands behind all his vehicles.”

“Ummmm—I didn’t buy it from Farkleberry,” Debra replied, “Wait—look what he sold you.”

“Open the door and check it out.”

She did—and was amazed. The kick-ass sound system, climate-control, GPS navigation, leather appointments—and the most comfortable seat she’d ever sat in, “Oh, MY!”

“And…”

“I’m off to Farkleberry’s!”

To be—CONTINUED…
