Previously: And they found no sign of Pegasus II
Maybe I’ve written the missing out of the story?
Maybe I’ve written the missing out of the blog?
Maybe I have writer’s block?
Season 15—Adventure 1—LOST—Episode 4—Scene 1… Along the shore of Lake Superior… The Codgers were relentless in their search—perhaps because Mac was one of their own—and as almost any member of Active Rain (circa 2007) can attest—they were quite fond of Boomer and, of course, Collie.
They were the first out of port in the morning—and the last to return at sunset.
Searching every inlet, every bay, around every island and peninsula no matter how small—they persisted.
Day after day after day—they returned disappointed, and I might add—disheartened.
Episode 4—Scene 2… Early morning at the Cyber Café—Lakeview City… “Where can they be? We’ve been into every damn inlet and bay from here down to Two Harbors.”
“Where can they be?”
“I know Jay,” Harold Peterson replied, “It’s damn frustrating, but we gotta keep going out—everybody does. They would do that for us.”
“Everyone who can is out searching—every day,” Bernie (Bernice) Ambrose added, “We simply couldn’t ask for more.”
“We need to head north, Jay,” Med said, “There is no place south we haven’t checked.”
“That’s true—and you’re right. We’ll head north—but first another mug of that organically and shade grown dark French roast coffee!”
“We’ll be fighting over the head.”
“Indeed, Fred,” Jay laughed, “That’s why there are four stalls—no waiting with crossed legs.”
Episode 4—Scene 2… a half-hour later, on Lake Superior just north of Lakeview City… The Codgers were relentless in their search, as they began a thorough, albeit slow, search of the shoreline. They hoped to get thirty miles covered before nightfall.
The Codgers were relentless in their search
For an experienced laker—and these guys were certainly experienced lakers—time still drags after a while.
Still—they were motivated. Conversations were, at first, spirited—but as the hours dragged-on, and on—the search degenerated into boredom.
They began to fight the urge to sleep.
Sometimes one or another would succumb to sleep.
Episode 4—Scene 3… Thirty-five Miles up-lake… Linda Ralph, and Sarah stubbornly refused to quit—the search too important. There was still an hour before sunset, and they were determined to make the most of it.
Linda Ralph, and Sarah stubbornly refused to quit—
The lake had calmed since the previous day making the search somewhat easier.
Ultimately—they found no sign of their friends and headed for port.
