PREVIOUSLY: William and Andy Carstairs were called to the loft, “You wanted to see us?”
“Yes, Bill,” Amos Bannon replied, “We’ve received word that Hiram Silverthorn and a friend are heading towards Canada on a vacation. We want you to try to take Silverthorn out. We failed in the 19th Century—maybe we can succeed in this century.”
“With pleasure, Mr. Bannon,” William replied, “And we WON’T farm-out the job—right Andy?”
Season 15—Adventure 2—HIRAM—Episode Two—Scene 1… Danger Bay Lofts elevator lobby…
“Hold on a second, boys.”
“Yes Ms. Bannon?” Bill Carstairs replied.
“Yes Ms. Bannon?”
“Here are two car keys, with the license number on the tag, for each of you. Leave your car in the lot—no one will pay any attention to it there. Use the phones we gave you, they are on a secure frequency so nobody can monitor you. Alternate who is following, so there is less likelihood that they will notice you.”
As it happened, AJ Boardman was about to enter the lobby when he heard Lea call-out—he paused to listen. With what he heard—he was right when he said that having the Bannons as neighbors might prove to be a good thing.
Episode Two—Scene 2… Silverthorn’s Café… AJ arrived with disturbing news, “The Bannons have just ordered a hit on Hiram!”
“The Bannons have just ordered a hit on Hiram!”
“Well,” Debra replied, “Let’s get the gang together—and RIDE!”
“You realize, Debra, that few of the posse are currently available. The Coopers have gone on vacation, Hickok and company are tied-up with the Wild West Park, I’m covering for Farkleberry, my dad is still recovering from his ordeal…”
“Well,” Chris said, “I’m not needed for now at the park.”
“School is on break, so I’m available,” Debra was actually glad she didn’t have to settle-in at her new post—yet.”
“As planned—my shop can be covered—so I’m available,” Joey added.
“As I said—LET’S RIDE!”
“Hold on before you ride-off,” AJ insisted, “Each take your own car or truck. The Carstairs brothers are driving separate cars with dedicated-frequency phones.”
“You can’t leave me behind,” Kiwi was adamant, “But my truck is marked.”
“Ride with me,” Chris offered, “NOW can we RIDE?”
