“Fair enough, will five-hundred be enough?”

“Indeed,” Lar grinned, “Maintaining five under the speed limit is hard work.”

The young, friendly man laughed, “I’ve gotten way too many speeding tickets—so I keep to five under all the time now.”

Since neither Hiram nor Lar had ever dealt with Andy Carstairs, they had no idea how dangerous he is.

We do—GENTLE READER—yes, we do!

Season 15—Adventure 2—HIRAM—Episode Four—Scene 1… at the Roadhouse Café… “So, where you fellas headed? I’m headed for Canada, I hear there’s some good fishing up there.”

“Wherever the road takes us,” Hiram replied, “But ultimately to the Lake Nipigon Ojibwe Reservation on Ontario.”

“Good fishing there?”

“There is, but it is reserved for tribe members,” Hiram replied, “However, they don’t control the lake—there are plenty of fishing resorts on the lake.”

Episode Four—Scene 2… Outside the Roadhouse Café… “There’s Hiram’s truck!”

“Okay, I see it,” Chris replied, “We’ll stop for gas.”

“And hope Hiram doesn’t see us, Chris, and give us away. We can’t be too careful.”

“You’re right, Kiwi. They may already be following him.”

Soon, Hiram and Lar came out and climbed into the truck, and pulled-out on the highway.

They were followed closely by Andy Carstairs, “Oh CRAP! That’s Andy Carstairs!”

“I’ll call Hy and warn him.”

Hiram immediately answered, “Yes, I was a little suspicious of him.”

“Just keep driving, we have Joey and Debra heading directly towards him and cut him off. We’ll pass you and run interference.”

“Okay—that works for me,” He replied and then turned to Lar Farkleberry, “We’d best strap our guns on—we have trouble ahead, I expect.”

Episode Four—Scene 2… Outside Susie’s Grille… William Carstairs met with his new recruits—Amos, Jim, Tim and Terry (whose last names we’ll never know—just like William—because he didn’t need to until time came to pay them) to give them their orders.

When he completed telling them what he expected, Jim had something to say, “We’ll need an advance on our fee—because we have no guarantee you’ll settle-up when we’re done.”

“Fair enough, will five-hundred be enough?”

“Yup.”

To be—CONTINUED…
