PREVIOUSLY: “They must have entered the highway from that gravel road in that curve in the highway we passed!”
“Let’s take them out, Chris!” Kiwi exclaimed as she drew her gun and threw the door open.
Chris was right behind.
They were outnumbered three to one!
Kiwi proved to be a remarkable shooter—taking two of the attackers down with two shots.
The battle was over in less than five minutes—with Chris and Kiwi taking three assailants out—wounded or dead.
Chris was more than a little impressed, “Who taught you to shoot?”
Season 15—Adventure 2—HIRAM—Episode NINE—Scene 1… On the Highway… Joey & Debra were confronted on the highway—both quickly took cover outside their trucks—and returned fire.
Two of the men fell wounded or dead—the rest got in their vehicles and tried to drive-off.
Two of the men fell wounded or dead—
One truck was successful. The men remaining quickly dropped their weapons and surrendered.
As soon as this “scene” was concluded and the director shouted, “That’s a take—people,” the “wounded” or “dead” men got up, climbed into their respective vehicles and drove to the casting office for reassignment.
Episode NINE—Scene 2… On the same highway, a few miles away… Farkleberry & Silverthorn were surrounded—by at least ten armed men, “Five to one odds, seems fair to me.”
“Yeah, Hiram,” Farkleberry replied as he pulled-out his .45 caliber Colt automatic, “Seems pretty fair to me.”
“Seems pretty fair to me.”
The battle went on for some time—the bad guys just didn’t seem to want to expose themselves.
That caused their fire to miss—by a wide margin.
On the other hand—both Farkleberry and Silverthorn were expert shots (who knew? We’ve never seen them in combat—GENTLE READER—right?) and were taking their toll on the hapless bad guys.
One by one they fell—yet, they were persistent.
In the end—all were either dead, or dying.
There’s an unexpected moral to this story—DON’T MESS WITH FARKLETHORN!
They climbed back into Hiram’s 1958 Ford F100 4×4—and drove off into the sunset!
Just like the heroes of all good westerns.
And so, this ADVENTURE has concluded—but our STORY? To be—CONTINUED…
