“Where’s my damn truck?”

Nipigon Banner ©Jack BoardmanPREVIOUSLY: “We’re too late!” Farkleberry exclaimed as he saw the deserted village.

“We gave it our best effort.”

Episode 8—Scene 3… The road leading to the reservation village… The “Warriors” parked and locked six cars spaced to block the road completely from shoulder to shoulder, leaving no way to maneuver past.

To put an exclamation-point on it, they also erected a sign: “We’re looking down from the heights—YOUR MOVE!”

“THAT—oughta tick them off, some,” Joey laughed.

“They must either surrender,” Chris added, “Or get themselves hurt.”

“Do you think they’re smart enough to surrender?” Debra asked.

Season 15—Adventure 3—NIPIGON—Episode 9—Scene 1… The Tribal Council Hall… “Where are they?”

“Simmer-down, Hiram,” Running-Deer replied, “They’re doing their jobs.”

“But Kiwi…”

“Can handle herself.”

“Hiram,” Farkleberry was sure going on-site would be a huge mistake, “Our friends are doing exactly what you and I would do if the situation were reversed—we need to let them do their jobs.”

“Well said, Lar,” Running-Deer agreed, “Now—do I have to call the reservation police and have them put in protective custody?”

“Where’s my damn truck?”

“Kiwi gave us her keys—it’s where you won’t find it.”

Episode 9—Scene 2… The road leading to the reservation village… The trap was complete—the ambush was set.

All that remained was for the Crusaders for Christ and their friends to show-up—the trap was completed and waiting for some victims, “We have a pretty fair field of fire from here.”

“We do Joey,” Chris replied—stroking the butt of her Remington .44, “But we will be outgunned.”

“How so?”

The ambush was set ©Jack Boardman“How so?”

“We’ve been told some of them are carrying sub-machine-guns.”

“They have to get in range,” Debra observed, “The warriors have Henry Rifles—with scopes.”

Episode 9—Scene 3… The road leading to the reservation village… The Crusaders for Christ and their friends arrived to find their way to the village well and properly blocked.

The Reverend Rupert Festus Wilbur, Jr. went into a rage.

The trap was complete ©Jack BoardmanThe Reverend Rupert Festus Wilbur, Jr. went into a rage.

He ordered his troops to advance and take the hill.

Confident in their skills and weaponry they began their advance up the hill.

Not one of Reverend Rupert Festus Wilbur, Junior’s men made it to the top of the hill.

Every member of our Posse could claim one or more kills, and the Henry Rifles of the “Warriors” were devastating.

Every one of the attackers was down.

Except the Reverend Rupert Festus Wilbur, Jr.

He (and his big Hudson station wagon) were nowhere to be seen.

He has reached the status of recurring bad guy.

Hiram Silverthorn and Medlar Farkleberry were safe—albeit angry at not being allowed to participate in the battle.

And so, this ADVENTURE has concluded—but our STORY? To be—CONTINUED…
